Ah yes, Invader Zim. Started in 2001 and sadly ended with the Christmas episode in 2002. It follows a Irken alien named Zim(who has the same voice as Raz from Psychonauts and Orthopox 13 from Destroy all Humans) who is banished to Earth(he believes hes sent to take over) with a defuntional robot servent named GIR. It'd be easy even for Zim if it wasn't for Dib, the only one who knows (and cares) about Zims true identity and motive. Hes sometimes helped by Gaz(whos got the same voice as Rika from Digimon Tamers, Ana from Shaman King sand the upcoming Devil Survivor remake as Yuzu.) Most of its humor was from its hammy voice acting(which was intentional if you've seen it), random things occuring/being said ("These waffles are good, whats in them?" "Theres waffle in them" "...YOU'RE LYING!!!"). So what is Operation Doom? Well, its basically a greatest hits DVD. Awhile back Nickelodeon threw a all day marathon took the episodes with the highest ratings and made a greatest hits DVD containing them. These are the episodes. The Frycook that came from all that Space: Zims origins over what he did inbetween Impending Doom 1 and 2 Carrer Day: Zim and Dib take a look at their future carrers, Dib as a Paranormal Investigator and Zim in fast food. Battle Dib: Dib needs his dads signature to appear at a Swollen Eyeballs(the organization he works with that inspects the paranormal) meeting but first needs to pass a test to even see him. The Nightmare Begins: The pilot. Zims sent to Earth after screwing everything up in the Irkens first attempt to conquer the galaxy Gaz, Taster of Pork: Dib uses a spelldrive to make his sister taste only pigs and must reverse it. Vindicated!: The school counseler takes a intrest in Dib's work and decides to help him in exposing Zim. The Voting of the Doom: Zim runs for class president Hobo 13: To get more weapons, Zim is sent to Hobo 13, a boot camp where noones survived. Walk for your Lives: Zim creates a explosion that has slowed down and must get rid of it before it destroys his base. Mysterious Mysteries: Dib gets interviewed on his favorite show. Personally my favorite episode Future Dib: Dib tries to stop zim from destroying his fathers latest invention. Plague of babies: Zim gets attacked by babies. Bloatys Pizza Hog: Zim has Dib captured and Gaz wants to go to Bloatys Pizza Hog. Guess who has to save Dib? I'm personally upset that they didnt include other favorite episodes "Door to Door" and "Zim eats Waffles. Hopefully the marathon will convince Nick to revive the show. Final Word: If you 1) a diehard fan that needs every last Invader Zim piece of merchandise, 2) wants to support the show or 3) want to see what all the hubub is about, get this. If you already own the original DVDs, it'll probably be best to just watch those. |
