To be fair, he could still be at home and achieve the same goal.

I watched it earlier today.

The results are exactly the exactly what you would expect in a creationism vs evolution debate.

Bill fucking nailed it.

I was disappointed Bill Nye failed to address Ken Ham's claim that without God there would be no logic/common sense in the world.

Legit question: can you even debate creationism from a scientific viewpoint as that would suggest there's some sort of science behind creationism as a logic?

So this is essentially an exercise in dick waggling for some scientists. Huh, waste of time then.

Pretty much. That's why I'm not a huge fan of these debates. Good on Bill Nye for trying to spread the word but IMO these things don't really go beyond just preaching to their respective choirs. I also think the format of it was extraordinarily dumb—the majority of the 'debate' was actually just Bill and Ken going through their own rehearsed presentations with very little room to actually offer decent rebuttals at the vast majority of either person's. It was a back-and-forth without the 'back' part; kinda missed the point of a debate really.

Not got much into this, but I thought the argument was "Is the creation school of thought relevant today?" and the answer is quite clearly "no".

Doesn't take a debate to decide whether a talking snake, two people populating the earth, a massive boat that defies the laws of physics, seas that split in two, and all the other guff included therein is either true or relevant, when you have actual, physical, solid evidence that says "LOLNO".

I thought this was going to be a debate, but its two presentations. Kinda disappoint.
