Oh I agree, just telling you what my student tells me.

The one who says that is the one who brings religion into the discussion. Discussion, doubt or disagreement regarding scientific theories hardly constitutes as religious by itself..

The whole 2012 thing is such a load of crap. If your student, dare I say, believes in Christianity and also believes that the world is set to end in 2012...well they have some serious reading issues.

But shes all ready giving me her cash... and what if shes right... decking a messenger of god get me on the express elevator.

She has also never engaged me seriously on evolution, think we just glanced on it at the end of a lesson once and she realized i was having none of it.

While I am convinced she is a loon, I do have to say at least she doesn't have it easy here trying to spread he message in a none christian country. Yes, I know missionaries are old news, but this isn't a self confident woman from a christian company, this is a woman who choose this.

This of course makes her more crazy. But at least more admirable in her brand of crazy.




I too hate it when people quote scriptures (esp. out of context ) but without here her to I want to at least show you her crazy when you do it... I am not coz I really cant be bothered, she gave me a book (not the bible... but she gave me that too) with it all in and it made my head hurt how much thought someone had put in to this.

I also have to teach her again to night and sit through 5 mins of her explaining why living with my gf makes me a sinner. I did shock her by telling her I knew this, and giving a reason why I think the concept is dated even for god now.

@Cono: Women tend to be more religious because they tend to think more in the abstract. Men think in the more immediate sense, so it can be harder for men to accept the idea of God. However, I think that if a man does believe in God (or whatever deity you believe in), it will be 10x harder to convince him that he's wrong than it would be with a woman. Why? Because we're 10x more stubborn.

Except within the confines of marriage. :/
