so my wife told me last night she read on the news the other day that a 4 month old baby was recently denied coverage for being overweight and a 2 year old girl was denied coverage for being underweight. I honestly don't think the govt. would ever deny a 4 month old coverage no matter how bad they might fuck things up sometimes.

Thats the problem with insurance. If you're a risk, then you don't get cover.

Way to go on having a health system that would leave a child to die if it meant making a few bucks.

Don't they deny people Social Security benefits for similar bullshit reasons? Of course, Social Security has been the single most mismanaged gov't venture in our nation's history, but...

Actually insurance companies are required to accept a certain amount of liabilities to balance out. After that though, they can deny you for having a cold.

Over here, illegals get free hospital treatment, as doctors are bound by their profession to assist those in need, if they can.

Can I just ask, while you're all tearing JZ a new asshole for making a comment you all think absurd (rather than doing the adult thing and ignoring it if you don't like it rather than making it a point to take a dig) what exactly happens to illegal immigrants in the US that require emergency medical treatment?
