politically, where do you stand?

you can cite a party, or just say outright "I'm a BLAHBLAH" or just state left or right.

When an American says left, they mean right. When they say right, they mean extremist right.

According to this system, I'm an extremist leftie because I believe people who have disabilities, are poor for some reason, old people, etc should receive healthcare and be taken care of by society at least at some basic level. In my book it's wrong to let old people, disabled people or other members of societies fall to their death without lifting a finger. People should have equal right to education and should be encouraged to work and prosper. It's also wrong to give corporations vital control over society, something they will always misuse.

I mean I do care about others and when I'm able to I definitely want to donate a nice amount to the homeless every year. But I honestly feel if all those things Seb listed need the help of money from my wallet I'm quite alright not helping out.

I just want to say that I fully understand the righites too. Personal freedom is extremely important to me. You should be supposed to take care of yourself and you have the right to prosper on your own without taxes eating up your profit. Government should be careful not to restrict too many things. I'm anti-gun control. Noone should mooch on the system for their own gain (which is a big problem, but not necessarily with the basic concept itself). That's why I like to think I actually end up somewhere in the middle (?). Perhaps slightly to the left. But in American eyes I would definitely be a clear leftie. In my world the taxes unfortunately have to be pretty high, but on the other hand it'll be a better world.
