Well, that'd be mainly for Blu-ray playback. It's a good BD player for the price. I'm still not overly interested in the PS3 exclusives. 360 exclusives + multiplatform = most games I want to play anyway (actually, it's mainly multiplat).

What compression does DVD use? I can't tell the difference between 320 kbps MP3 and CD. Between 192 kbps MP3 and CD there's a very tiny difference.

While I agree uncompressed audio isn't the be-all-end-all, there is an audible difference between them. It's just dependent on the speakers they are played on.

I dunno man, most down-to-earth audiophiles agree 320 kbps MP3 is extremely difficult to tell from CD quality. Unless the DVD audio compression is incredibly shitty I don't think you'll be hearing a meaningful improvement even on a $20,000 system.
