Then use Fluxbox. My desktop performance is "snappy". I'm browsing the net while playing music/transferring it to my phone while the FEAR 2 demo is minimized (1920x1200, everything max, 4x AF 2x AA), STEAM is running, and Utorrent is up. Plus my wireless and AVG.
