Nintendo will go on with their motion crap and I suspect it'll work a lot better next-gen. Sony and MS will (hopefully) keep doing real controllers. They're still far superior. Even the PS3 controller is better, and it's an unchanged design from the 90s. Perhaps Nintendo's controller becomes almost usable next-gen but.. I think it'll be a while before these controller are better than real controllers.

IMO that's an incredibly tough question.

The sole reason for this is because in my opinion, innovation isn't really the answer here. Like Sebs has said, I hope hardware companies keep following the tradition of the good ol' buttons, because honestly, they've been doing the job, and a pretty darn good job at that.

The future of game controllers, IMO? More comfortable, more ergonomic, and easier to handle. Motion-sensitivity is not the answer right now.

But I think that in the future, motion sensing will be THE way to control games. But that's way ahead. As long as we still play on TVs, traditional controllers will also be with us.

in the future future there won't be controllers. You'll attach electrode sensors to your head and control the game with your mind.
