Post subject:  Player interview #6 - Erbsdaword

Name: Tre T.

Age: Crusty - 43

Location: Dirty South Texas - USA

How old were you when you got into gaming, and which system did it?
I was 4yo. My dad bought an Odyssey, and it was awesome. We also bought a Pong machine, and from what I remember, we played that more than the Odyssey. Probly because it was super easy and I was only freaking 4YO!!

If different from above, what was the first system you owned?
The first system that I personally owned was a NES. All systems prior to that were family owned.

What systems do you currently own?
Atari 2600, Playstation, Sega Saturn, Xbox, PS3, Wii, Game Boy, DSi, PSP 2000 Darth Vader edition.
at one time I also owned NES, Intellivision, Vetrex - all were lost to due to mom selling then by "accident"

What is your favorite system, be it current or retro?
PS3. Freaking love it.

A rough estimate of how many games you own?
Not exactly sure, but well over 100. Never counted them. I will post an update....(breaks out abacus)

What game are you currently playing?
Seeing as I am studying and doing major house renovations, I have not had much time to play. The last game I was playing is Dead Nation. I really want to pop in Alice: Madness Returns that I just got.

What is your favourite genre, and why?
Racing, hands down. I just love racing in gaming and the real world. It just gets me excited.

What is your favourite game series, and why?
This is tough. It is a tie between Resident Evil and Gran Turismo. Although, I have heard great things about this FF thing..hmmmmm

What is your all-time favorite game, and why?
New- GT5. I play it the most, and always come back to it.
Retro - Galaga. God I love this game.

Who is your favourite developer, and why?
Don't really have one.

Give us your most under-rated/under-valued game.
I would have to say Mini Ninjas. Such a damn good game that never really caught on. Was just deep enough to make it fun, without getting too complicated. Plus it was only $45 brand new!!! Semi Open world, lots of exploration, in depth skill & weapon menus. Just all around fun!!! I really need to pop this one back in.

Any platform exclusive you'd like to see make the leap to multiplatform?
Forza to the PS3 (I know this will probly never happen....) I really liked playing Forza on my Xbox. Was so much fun. Would be kool to play it on the PS3.

How about your favorite handheld game?
Dementium: The ward on the DS. One hell of a survival horror game. It was also majorly under rated.

Any old series you'd like to see revived on current gen platforms?
DEFEND DAMNIT!! WHERE THE HELL IS MY DEFENDER HD?!??!? I WANT NAO!!!!!

Tell us about your most memorable gaming moment, something you're going to tell your grandkids.
The time I finised my first game till the end. It was Super Mario Brothers 2. That final boss, back then, was a major pain. It was soo kool, and I actually felt like I accomplished something special. LOL

Deep thoughts now:
Given the many news reports of people committing horrific acts against other people and then blaming videogames, do you feel that videogames are - in any way, shape or form - responsible for these atrocities, or are there other issues at play?
NO. This has been posted before, but I feel that games are a fantasy outlet for fun. If you cannot understand that this is a fantasy, fiction....then you already have a moral issue, if not a mental issue, that you cannot do these things in the Real World. If there were no video games, then Movies would be blamed....they are jus being used as a scape goat. This section reminded me of Deep Thoughts by Jack Handy..youtube that shit.

Have you ever found yourself looking at life or the world around you in a different light after playing a videogame, or has a videogame had any influence on how you live your life?
NO. Pretty much the same reason as above. They are fantasy.....or maybe I just have not played one that has been that emotionally tied to me. Games are Games, not lessons for life. I feel that they are fun, not something that should be used as a moral compass. Then again, I may have not played the right game to have a yes answer......

And finally, tell us a strange but true fact about yourself.
Geez, I dunno. I guess maybe my family's history. This means a lot to me because I am from Texas. My multiple great Grandfather was one of the FIRST 10 Texas Rangers. And his son, was one of the captors of Santa Anna in the Texas War of Independence. As for me personally, I am just an ordinary gamer. ;-P

Probably will get Forza 4 down the line now that I have my own Xbox which doesn't have MW2 melted to the disc tray.

I am somewhat let down by the lack of anime chicks in this interview xD

I can do bi-weekly... got the list ready on my lappy of members with 100 posts or more, so should be easy to bang two out per month...
