1993 - Panasonic releases the FZ-1 REAL 3DO Interactive Multiplayer in the US.
1995 - Square releases Secret of Evermore for the Super NES in the US. The game is a sequel to Secret of Mana.
1996 - Acclaim Entertainment releases Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 for the Super NES in the US.
1999 - Nintendo releases Pokémon Yellow Version: Special Pikachu Edition for the Game Boy Color in the US. (1 million copies sell in 14 days, making it the fastest selling Nintendo title.)

1992 - Nintendo releases Metroid II: The Return of Samus for the Game Boy.
October 11th1994 - Square releases Final Fantasy III for the Super NES in the US. This is known as Final Fantasy VI in Japan. (440,000 copies sell.)
2002 - Acclaim releases Burnout 2: Point of Impact for the PlayStation 2 in England. Acclaim offers to pay drivers' speeding tickets incurred that day.
October 12th2004 - Nintendo releases Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door for the GameCube in the US.
October 13th1992 - Nintendo and Sony reach an agreement on a standard for CD-ROM players for a new video game system that can play Super NES cartridges and CD-ROMs. Nintendo will license all game software, and Sony will license, through Nintendo, all other software types.

2001 - Microsoft announces that the Xbox video game system will go on sale in Europe on March 14, for 479 euros, and Capcom releases Devil May Cry for the PlayStation 2 in the US.
October 18th1985 - Nintendo releases the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in the United States. The NES comes with the Robotic Operating Buddy and the Zapper light gun. Price is US$125. Bundled with the console is Super Mario Bros. (Total worldwide sales: 40.24 million, a record still held in January 2004.)

2002 - In Japan, Square unveils the Final Fantasy X-2 video game, showing a video trailer for the game, and Nintendo releases the Mario Party 4 video game for the GameCube in the US.
