sucks, you can't play a game the same time you are sharing a game

But thats like saying "I lent x-friend my Bioshock 2 disc, and now I can't play it".

Majority of the time I am on steam I am not playing a game and doing something else. So my steam friends can play my games if they want. I don't care. This will only be a problem for people who play a lot or alt-tab out of games a lot and browse the web and stuff while they are playing a game.

In steam I loan you Bioshock, while you are playing Bioshock I can't play anything.

Now I get you. Yeah, that sucks.

Would online mode not work in that scenario?

I'm pretty sure that's only if you decide to offer your entire library to be shared. They've said that you can loan out games on an individual basis, and you can even send requests to your friends to ask them to loan you games. If I get into the beta, I'll explore the features a little bit and come back with a solid confirmation though, as I can easily be wrong.

Either way, I'm pretty hopeful about this.

I am sure I will be in the beta. I have all the community badges and stuff and I got early access to the big picture mode when that was in testing. if I get invites I'll send some out.

Did you join the community group? They're doing it the same way they did cards, where they're pulling from the people who joined a certain group.

Your library can only be used by one person at a time. So if you, the primary user, log in to spend some quality time with Call of Duty Ghosts, your buddy checking out Bastion ahead of Transistor's release will have only a few minutes to either save and quit, or buy the title for themselves.
