Also, Ax, if he'd been a Red Mage, the monsters would have been dead before they got to us, and even if they had got to us, we'd only needed minimal healing, so nyer.

Hit level 10, you get a special quest that you have to do solo, specific to your "profession". Beat it, you unlock the ability to have multiple "jobs". I just got mine. Thinking of either Thaum or possibly a trade, see if I can't make some armour and a little money on the side.

Level 12, storming the place, managed to learn a fair few more things this morning.

1. In every city there are Aethernet Shards. Find them and you can teleport between them. Find them ALL in a city, and you can teleport directly to an city exit gate. Perfect if you're miles away from the plains and you're next to a Shard.

2. As above, hitting level 10 unlocks a specific mission that has to be done solo. Beat it, you can then join other guilds.

3. Once you do the above, you can have "outfit sets". Basically its like saving specific armours for specific roles. I have one called "Gladiator" which is all defense and strength boosting armours. If I join a mage guild, I could start creating a "Caster" set, made up of magic defense and magic attack boosting armours. By going into Outfits, I can switch between full armour sets rather than manually doing it one at a time.

I think next month. I'm not sure if I'd want to pay a monthly fee for it or not though.

I have a feeling - now my job is relatively well paid - I could spring for a sub, but again, still early days yet. Beta ends this week too, then its open beta. Hopefully we'll still be in it, and if we get to see more, that will likely decide for me.

Anyways, today was interesting.

Prof: Okay, so now I'm a level 10 Conjurer... I need the Thaumaturge's Guild...
Blokeh: Thats in my starting town. Its a fair run away. I did it solo the other day to meet you, took about five minutes non-stop running.
Prof: I can do that.
Blokeh: Okay. You ready?
Prof: Yup!
Blokeh: Lets go. And whatever you do, don't stop.
Prof: Okay.

We get to the first part of our journey...

Prof: Oh Jesus...

I think my next time online I'll be switching to Conjurer, because Gladiator lvl 30 + Conjurer lvl 15 = Paladin.

Might stick with Gladiator til I hit 30 then switch, I dunno. Either way, strong attacking + healing magic = almost Red Mage, and as we all know for a fact Red Mages are top-tier ultimate class.

I guess you have to currently be online to get added. Tried adding both of you and server said it couldn't find either.

Dunno how you did it but if you go to Player Search and just use our names to search, it should still find us, but show we're offline - it does this for one of the guys I know who hasn't played online for a while. And I think Prof managed to add me as he messaged me just after I got on.

I'll jump on now, see if I can locate you, but can't stick around as the kids are due for bath and bed in a few...

level 10. time for a break while i sit in a sanctuary

So the game runs on my laptop. It's not great, but it runs. I guess I know what I'll be doing for the following months of travel until my PS4 arrives..

So I discovered that I've been concentrating on my class quests and subquests all this time. Turns out there's also story quests involving crystals and the Thaumaturgists being like some dictatorial government and the end of the world and all manner of other shit.

I'VE BEEN WASTING MY TIME.

I think, considering I've been paying £12 a month for a wifi dongle I haven't used in almost 7 months, I'm gonna cancel that and pay for a character on this when it hits.

Wasn't too impressed when I first started, but playing with chums and discovering all the various things that CAN be done, I'm down for this.

If betas have taught me anything, it's that the whole thing is a waste of time. They're probably going to wipe all progress when the game actually launches next month.
