Considering that it's quite possible that no piece of Skyrim DLC will ever come to PS3, I may use one of the PSN cards I have and get this.

Also, take the focus off of building, toss in proper NPCs and add in so much loot.

You get special weapons, craft accessories and different misc items (things from clocks, to depth meters, and even grappling hooks and jet packs).

The only thing about this game though is that it looses its charm VERY quickly.

I've played this game in two sessions. Once, when I first got it. Played the hell out of it for a day or two, and then stopped.
The second session was when a few friends got it, a LONG while later. I played with them for, again, a few days before becoming very bored with the game.

Honestly though, it's pretty damn fun.

This. I ran a server for a few weeks, and even doing that, I got bored with it. I could summon mobs and bosses to torment people, give out the best weapons in the game, tons of platinum coins, infinite building materials, etc. The game is a really neat idea and concept, it just lacks depth.

Terraria was disappointing to me. I bought it, don't get me wrong but it left me underwhelmed.

I'll admit that the environments are pretty cool, but most of that is focused up and down (mostly down), and the left and right is really tiny comparitively. While it has some amazing touches, and lots of fun crafting recipies and such, and the NPCs are all cool, AND the boss fights are incredible, once you hit hard mode, you just hit a massive meat wall (I mean after the literal meat wall that is the Wall of Flesh or whatever it's called. nasty ass boss that is. epic though.).

Given that, I somewhat lost interest in the game, because even random mobs just kept murdering the fuck out of me, meaning I couldn't even find the minerals I needed to make better arms and armour because I just kept DYING.

Then I found they had stopped doing updates for PC. That made me kind of sad, because it had a very short life, whereas Minecraft will continue to have content upgrades, so it's an ever evolving, ever expanding product. That for me wins out.

Then I found out the fuckers were bringing it to XBLA and PSN with exclusive new content and I just felt like I had wasted my money entirely. I wish I could demand my money back but now I just have terraria sitting on my list of steam games like a constant reminder of how much I have been played for a fool by Relogic. They can fuck off.

Fuck all y'all.

Bought this from PSN, and it has me in its claws like some kind of fucking IV crack drip. Seriously loving the almighty shit out of it.

And in case you're wondering, about 20-30 hours already, massive house still under contruction, 5 NPCs moved in, 6 spaces left, fucking chests full of loot, 11 statues found, Silver armour, Gold tools, Gold broadsword and bow, Fire arrows, that teleport mirror thing, I think 10 hearts, maybe 11, 4 mana stars, and the only boss I've beaten is the Eye Of Cthulu.

I'm in the midst of making an arena for the Eater Of Worlds, because fuck fighting that bastard on equal terms.

Oh, and also I discovered both coasts too. Made me a whole load of wood platforms across the corruption caverns so I can pretty much leg it from one end to the other.

Also, I discovered something rather worrying, and I just want to know... the sea... if I remove the top block and let it run in, will it do so forever?

I only ask because the right-hand side beach is a massive sand mountain that is actually the highest point of the map, and if I remove those blocks, and the water runs in endlessly, then pretty much everything is going to end up underwater...

FUCKING LOVING THIS GAME.

You will be done with it in a weeks time of playing. Trust me. You guys should get it for PC, then we can all play with each other.

Yeah, nah, this caters to my construction tastes in that I'll spend more time building than playing. Like all the LBP games, even Karting. Love the games, but the construction elements make me moist in the flaps.

I've heard people ssaying they love it more than minecraft, and others saying it's not all that. I believe it's which you play first.

I have it on PC, didn't really enjoy it, sadly. I'm sure it's a great game though.

I enjoyed it alot too, but it's way more fun if you get to explore with a friend. Also..
>get underwater suit to breathe
>go to edge of map in the water
>dig to hell
>flood hell
>no more problems with lava -ever-

Oh and the flamethrower was my weapon of choice. Make that shit.

So day two with Terraria, and this is where I'm at.

Excuse the simplicity of the house - its work in progress. The layout is pretty much as its gonna look, but there's a whole fuckload of decorations that I'll be throwing in there too, so expect it to change a whole lot.

First off, see that little two-brick-high step? Apparently that stops monsters from breaking down my door. I'm happy with that. :D

The number of statues I have has pretty much doubled in two single ventures, and as far as the chests go, the three gold ones in front of my bed are for money, bars, and special shit.

The gold ones on the lower floor are for equipment, weapons, etc, and the rest on the left side are ingredients, plants, potions, etc.

The ones on the right are all the mined materials that I have so far - mud, clay, silt, sand, dirt, rock, wood, with the ones above them holding the same as the ones below them.

Loving this game so bloody much. Still unsure if the sea is never-ending, because all it would take to flood the whole world is the removal of just three sand blocks...
