Anyone know much about screen recording and audio recording? I'm wanting to record myself playing some retro games n stuff but last time I tried it, I only got the one video. Reason for this being that I was recording my video, my game audio, and my talking all at the same time. And after recording 4 levels in a row I realised my voice was way too quiet so I said "fuck that" and havn't been back since.

Does anyone know how I could mebbe record my voice separately? What do other people use? Just in case I need to adjust levels n shit like that.

Cheers lads.

I use Open Broadcaster Software (OBS). Totally free, and it'll record both your audio and game audio should you so choose, one track for each. I'm assuming you're just recording PC game footage, because I have no idea how recording console footage works.

Shadowplay works flawlessly, and even has an overlay to add your webcam to the corner of the screen.

As an example, you can hear everything in the game, TeamSpeak, and me in this video:

But if you're still intent on recording your voice separately, you can just use audacity.

If you stick with ShadowPlay, you can use http://www.pushtotalk.nu/ to keep background noise out, because shadowplay doesn't feature any push-to-talk features and will pickup everything that hits your mic. I use it and bind it to the same key I use for PTT in TeamSpeak.
