I'll agree that Stu does the Ripper stuff better than Barlow (fucking won [ron?] on Ten Thousand Strong in Kourion, though), but I can't say that he does the Barlow stuff as well across the board. I enjoyed him doing Dante's Inferno, but his version of Dracula didn't stack up to me. I'd be interested in hearing a studio version, though.

I think actually the point I was trying to make and maybe didn't word it particularly well, was that Stu Block is competent with all of the band's material; which makes him the better all-round vocalist.

Ripper was good at his own stuff, but couldnt sing the Barlow songs
Barlow was good at his own stuff, but couldnt sing the Ripper Songs
Block is good at his own stuff, and can do all the others 85-90% as well

In the context of a live show, I want to hear the band playing at least in the flavour of what I remember from the studio CDs. I know who I'd pick for an entire show :D

Ripper's a one trick pony, Barlow is generally awesome, but Block is versatile enough to pull off a 2 hour show mixing all eras.

Okay, that's fair. I definitely like Stu, and I think he does well with most of the Iced Earth library. It's just some of the Barlow stuff he does that I'm not crazy about, but some of it he does very well (again, like Dante's Inferno).

In the vein of Iced Earth, I've been playing a lot of Demons and Wizards lately. Man, I wish they'd release a new album.

Hmm not bad. I've heard of them; is that Jon Schaffer too?

Schaffer does the guitars, and Hansi Kursch does the vocals. They collaborated for a while in the early 2000s and released a couple albums. There's been talk off and on since that they were contemplating a new album, but to my knowledge, nothing's come of it yet.

I knew it. There's no mistaking that rhythm playing. The guy is a beast.

Fucking love D&W. My favourite album is Crimson King, based on Stephen King's The Dark Tower series. I have it on very limited edition CD.

Yeah they keep hinting at new stuff but I've heard nothing. Shame really.

Sit down, emo faggot.

A little Blind Guardian for everyone, both in original and modern format.
