For all you tech guys on here I am going to be going for my A+ Certification once my computer class is over. Now, I want to know do I have to keep updating my certification every 3 years and for someone like me going into the tech field what other certifications should I try to get? My professor told me I should get into security since that is becoming a big thing but my major is ECT and it is more hardware than software.

Get your A+ then your Network+. You can then go for the Security+ which is the natural progression.

Be warned though, IT is boring as fuck.

I don't think it will be that boring. Even if I am sitting on my ass most of the day I am getting paid to do nothing.

I'm not getting into IT again. It's fucking mindnumbing. But you'll find out on your own, which is the best way.

My cousin gets in a company van and drive all over the place and goes to different accounts. He works on parking garage machines to installing security cameras. If I can get into that I don't think it would be boring. He has a lot of fun doing his job but everybody is different.

The single most satisfying job moment I've had in the last 18 years occurred on Friday.

I work for a company that provides retirement villages, retirement flats, care homes, etc, for folk over 55. More specifically, I'm the newest member of the Customer Relations team. We deal with mostly complaints, but also compliments, for the staff, properties and facilities that we provide all over the country.

I was reading one compliment from an old chap who has had a pretty fucking shit time, but because of us, found a new lease of life, and I ain't afraid to say it, I almost pushed out a tear or two. I've only been there two weeks, and I felt proud to be part of a company that makes so much of a difference to people's lives.

So if you want a good job that makes you feel that getting out of bed in the morning is worth it, then get a job working in the relations department of a company that provides facilities to people in need. Its life changing, it really is, to know you're making such a difference to other people.

I'm going to college hopefully this year to study game theory and design.

Rockstar North are 5 miles away from me.

That's my goal.
