Elaborate? Sounds like there's a story there.

This. My mom and a good friend of mine have both lost babies, and there's really just nothing you can say or do.
Just know that they may fall into a less than pleasant mood every year around this time, and don't fault them for it when they do.

She just talked to everyone like they was dirt. The whole team were getting shit for everything all day. One person on the phones put it in "not ready" (where no calls come in) as the one she had just taken was a bad one and needed a bit of time to note the file, search out the right documents, etc. She looked over and was all "Dawn, why not ready?" and she explained why, and she was all "Thats not really my problem though, is it? My problem is that my inbound calls taken figure is going be a call or two down, and I can't have that now, can I?

So there was that, which was fucking bullshit, but I thought "Hey, job's a job, right?"

Just to note too, the job I was going for was a 9-5.30 position, which suited me perfect due to travel arrangements.

So because I got moved into her team, my hours changed (and my contract did state hours may change where needed, but nothing about moving to a totally different team, cos that would have been a whole new contract).

Me: Okay, so I'm off now. When I come back in tomorrow, I come straight up to this team, yes? No need to wait in reception, just come on up?
Her: Thats right, yes. Also, can you be here for 8.30 tomorrow?
Me: Oh right... the other guy (the sub-manager) said that some folks do that shift, but others do permanent 9.00-5.30 due to various reasons, and I'd kinda been told those were going to be my hours... but I'll look into the travel tonight, see if there's a way around it so I can get here on time, cos the bus I get now is hourly...
Her: Hmmm. Where are you coming from?
Me: Wyke, just at the bottom end.
Her: Oh. Right. Well, we USED to have a girl from Wyke, and SHE made it on time for 8.30, so there's NO reason why YOU can't, is there? (emphasis on the raised inflections on the capitalised words, and finished with the raised eyebrow at the end)
Me: Oh. Well, I don't drive, and I know the buses are awkward, so I'll get it looked into and see if I can't work something out.
Her: Don't drive? Maybe you might want to look at that then, hmm?

So yeah, theres that too.

If you're quitting, there's no reason to be modest. Throw the bitch under the bus and tell them you're not going to work for a person that acts like she does.

Aw man, sounds like my old bosses. Did she say everything in that sickeningly sweet tone, too, where it makes you even madder that they're being such fuckfaces?

Nope, she said it in a really condescending, I'm better than you tone of voice. I could have handled the old baby tone, but not this.

Also, not gonna just go out and say "Take your job, cos she's a beeyotch" because the guy who referred me is a bloody good lad, and I wouldn't want to be a real dick to people, and then have them go "Wait, didn't that guy in that department recommend him? Lets give him a bucketload of shit for recommending someone like that..." and then he goes and gets a hard time.

Need to be as diplomatic as possible so he doesn't get any grief.

Since this is a get it off your chest thread. You never looked after my back when we played MAG. I did all the work for the team and you just sniped my back!

So I am gonna be getting off now to go to bed. I am gonna train my body to get to bed by 3am and then work my way to earlier times.

I did that when I quit my casino food server job.

Restaurant Manager was a total minnie-moo-foo-foo. The supervisors were good, but we went through like 6 in the time I was there. I applied for the position every time it was open, and she blocked me every time. I even had OTHER departments wanting me to supervise in their department and she'd pull some shit to block the transfer. Then she started fucking my schedule all up. So I quit. When I went into HR and they asked why?

"That fat fucking bitch on a power trip is destroying that restaurant, and it will ALWAYS be a shitty place to be as long as she works for this company."

Their eyes got real wide, but they KNEW what I said was right.

She doesn't work there anymore.

So the other day I got a chicks number at the university. I seen her a few times around and talked to her a bit but this time I finally put on the SugaFree trademark charm and got them digits. I asked if she wanted to hang out one of these days and she was up for it. (Btw, this isn't the care that I talked about a few months back, another chick) I didn't text her for a few days because I don't like coming off as a needy dude. Let the girl wait for my text, keep her on check lol

Anyway, I text her today and she apparently has a boyfriend. I am like "Yo wtf gurl, handing out numbers but you already taken? Shit ain't right". Why bother giving the number out? I don't look for no drama. Anyway we chatted up, she was lol'ing at texts, sending smiley faces and shit and even after I had ended the conversation (I said something that I had to work on a project but I just wanted to stop texting) she throws me another smiley and says she will talk to me later.

I talked to the homegirl at school and she said "Wow what a bitch, just call it off". I am thinking of not pursuing this girl even though I think she is really cool. I don't want to get caught up you know? Maybe I will keep it friendly, but even I think it is shady to just hand another dudes number like that when all these times I spoke to her she never mentioned her boyfriend.

 I giggled when I read that.

But watch out for girls like that. You don't know what her intentions are. Hey maybe she wants to break up with the guy and get with you? or maybe she is trying to cheat on her boyfriend and really piss him off. Whatever it is being friends was the right choice.

So, an alarm went off here in the facility in the middle of me recording a DARB video.

I checked the computer for which unit and the cameras and stuff, sure enough there's a pickup in the area.

So I go strollin' on down there. I see a guy holding a rifle, and I march on up like a boss with no fear. I get up there and explain the situation. The guy shows me his ID and it's all good. I take another look at the rifle.

Orange tip. Airsoft gun.

Probably woulda known before I got there if I had eyes that worked. Ah well, I'm still a boss.

ROUND 2!

I was recently put up for consideration to be transferred to Baltimore to open and run a new facility over there. I hadn't even been with the company for 90 days yet, and they asked me (it was 90 days on the 17th). Obviously, I feel really great that they'd even consider me for something as big as that when I haven't even worked long enough to have any benefits.

I told them that I'm interested as long as I have a say in who my co-manager is.

My boss and HIS boss (2nd in the company after the owner basically) show up and talk to me about it. They want to interview my friend who I would want to manage with. She meets them for an interview on that same day.

They send her an application to fill out.

Holy shit, this may actually happen?

Basically, I'm willing to take the transfer for many reasons:

1.) Nothing it tying me to Nevada. Most of my family has moved away to different parts of the US. It's not like I'm moving away from a bunch of friends and family.

2.) They said it would include a very generous bonus if they do go with me. In addition to that, if the facility meets certain expectations, my friend and I will get large bonuses in addition to normal commission as well. Ultimately there's a MUCH larger earnings potential.

3.) It gives me a chance to prove myself in the company and show them that I AM the fucking man.

I'll know within 3 weeks most likely if they go with me and my friend, or just me.

I'm anxious and excited and terrified. I haven't been farther east than Minnesota. Baltimore is East COAST, and I know that it's entirely different there than here. I'm not afraid of the area or anything. It's just that this is a HUGE decision/opportunity, and I don't really know how to weigh it.

If they say they'll hire my friend and we'll both manage the place, I'll do it immediately.

If they say they'll transfer me, but not my friend.... I don't know. It's not like we're a couple or ever will be, so it's nothing like THAT getting in the way. I don't know how well I'll handle moving all the way across the country, managing a new facility with someone I don't know AT ALL, and then proceeding to actually be happy there.

It could work. I may thrive. I may fall back into depression. It's a major choice, and I'll know more within a month, but I need to know how to respond when the decision comes (if they want to transfer me but not my friend, I CAN decline with no worries, but I may not be considered for something in the future).

So I already know that if they want to hire my friend and move us both, I'm there. No problem.

How do I respond if they only want to move me? Do I do it? Don't I? If I don't, what sort of reason do I give? If I do, do I push for my friend?

If they don't want to go with me, I understand. I'm new. It's a HUGE risk. One that they've shown that they're willing to take, honestly. If they don't want to hire my friend, but transfer me, do I risk getting 'stuck' here by declining?

It's just.... new to me, yeah?

I think it'll all boil down to two issues - one you might have already pre-empted, and one that's out of your control.

1. Do they think you might "get it awn"? If so, they might see it as a risk, as y'know, you hook up, then split, then one of you quits and leaves a place that requires filling. However, if you've already been all "bitch just be a good friend, no interest there at all, more like a sister than anything else", then they probably won't worry about it.

2. This friend you referred - she'll have to do her own interview. Hopefully she'll impress them as much as you obviously have, but some folks just don't do interviews very well. This is out of your hands, so nothing you can do about it.

If the company knows that a) you're ONLY friends, and b) your friend pisses the interview with ease, then I honestly see no reason not to ship you both, especially as it will make it a whole lot easier for BOTH of you to move long-distance and do the job, as you'll both be with someone you know, rather than being alone or with someone you never met before.

Its like going to medical college and finding your roommate is your high school science lab partner. Not only makes the move easier, and the stay easier, but you'll both help each other in class too.

Fingers crossed either way, son!

1.) She's a lesbian. I've been her lesbro for YEARS. We love eachother like family, but there's absolutely nothing physical there and never will be. I KNOW my bosses will understand, tolerate, and be totally fine with that.

2.) She had the interview that same day. They asked for it. She made it happen. After that interview they sent her an application and she filled it out and returned it.

Everything is currently "Under Review" right now.

I honestly think there's a very high chance of it happening. My co-manager at this location has proven she can handle it here on her own for the short time it'll take to get a new co-manager in. I've proven that I am dedicated to achieve within this company and make a career. My friend is at the same point in her life and wants the opportunity I have.

The big question is what if me but not her?

They won't be turned aside by the "Get it on" aspect, since they ALWAYS look for couples to run facilities. It's the way the industry works with on-site managers. The new facility won't be on-site (I won't be living on the property, but they'll pay all rent/utilities like it is now living on property). I AM the anomaly in their system. They took a chance by hiring a young single guy to work for them. It's HIGHLY unusual, and a FIRST in this particular company, and apparently they've been stunned by my work ethic.

If they ever find DARB though I may be in trouble.
