I've plugged the Protomen a few times in the music thread, but they're worth bringing up here too. Dystopian retelling of the story of the Mega Man games(uh, give or take), in rock opera form.
The first video here's kinda softer, slower, more about the storytelling. The second is faster, heavier, and more about robots killing the shit out of each other.

A Perfect Circle wasn't really my cup of tea, and I've heard the Protomen before.

Here's a small bit of Devin Townsend.

Both songs are from his album, Ki, which was focused on making subtler songs (there's also this progressive feel that the songs have, and I'm a sucker for a touch of prog). This guy's got a handful of different projects, this one being The Devin Townsend Project (creative, isn't it? [/sarcasm]), and I know he also has a hand in the metal band Strapping Young Lad.

I wish I could just dump an entire catalog of music I enjoy on here, but that'll do for now :3

While I haven't listened to much of Strapping Young Lad, Dev's made an impression on me. I've picked up Ki and Addicted, and I've still gotta pick up Deconstruction and Ghost to have the four-album set from his newest projects.

... After saying I haven't listened to SYL, I'm expecting a flood of videos and flame.

^I saw that posted by a guy I knew on Facebook. I avoided it like a plague. Now that it's here, I decided to give it a watch.
It started off nicely, and I was very disappoint at that big explosion at the end of bullshit.

It was nicely put together, but an overuse of memes always bothers me for some reason. ;3;
