Hey Torez, this is probably out of the blue, but is the thing that keeps you from sleeping related to your problems in attracting the sole female that interests you?

You said the thing that keeps you up wasn't by any means bad, but at the same time, you seemed disconcerted by it, so...yeah.

You've hit the nail on the head bro. The girl I like, and have asked out, seems to have limited interest in me. Limited as in I've asked her out twice, and she has never said 'no', but she's also hasn't made any definitive move to reciprocate my interest...

An interesting development... Last night I was lying on the couch back at the university dorms... And another girl, let's call her A, confessed to liking me to her friend... Or at least I'm about 80% sure she said that, considering I was drunk and semi-conscious at the time. I had liked her as a friend up until now but... I guess it could go further than that

So yeah, it's the girl I'm crazy for that isn't crazy for me, or the girl that's crazy for me but I'm not entirely crazy for her.

Haha, yeah, I actually assumed it might be something similar to that when you first posted it, but I didn't want to pry, but currently I'm too high on what-I-assume-to-be-infection to really bother with stuff like "not probing into peoples' private lives"

However, I will point out that just cause she doesn't show signs that she's ridiculously into you, doesn't mean she isn't ridiculously into you. Just keep that in mind.

I would honestly suggest outright asking her how interested she is in you! I have been incredibly blunt and honest and open lately and it has done me a lot of good. Although ironically the only thing I have not been able to bring myself to ask is the exact same thing I'm suggesting you ask. Romantic shit sure is complicated!


One thing I would definitely not go for is the girl you're not crazy into. If she really digs you and you don't really dig her, but you think "what the hell, I need some romance in my life" and go for it anyway, it could end up seriously hurting her, and it just seems like a dick move to risk seriously hurting a friend cause you felt sorta ronery. If you do start feeling romantic interest in her, give it a bit to make sure it isn't a gut reaction, not a "Welp this chick likes me and she is p cool, so I guess I like her too!"


But yeah I'm not saying that the girl you dig secretly digs you just as much, I'm just presenting it as a possibility; some people, myself included, have difficulties expressing how we really feel, and come off as colder than we mean to.

I figure I'll give it a week. I've done all I can with girl #1 at this point. She asked "do you still wanna go out" last night, but I mean she was completely smashed. So I really don't know what that means. She showed a lot of interest before, but lately not so much.

Girl #2 I do like. Not major-crush-can't-live-without-her kind of thing, but I do like her. We get along very well, and I have a lot more in common with her than girl #1... My crush on girl #1 is a little irrational... Girl #2 tho, I could probably have a lot healthier relationship with.

I guess I can make one more attempt with girl #1 first... But I just don't know... She's a complicated one, to say the least

Like I said, I think you should ask the girl you dig how she feels about you. Don't make a big deal out of it, but when you ask her out, if she says yes, you might wanna be all "So you've seemed distant lately, everything okay?" and if everything is indeed okay, try and sort guide it to a "So I don't mean to put you on the spot, but I'm pretty interested in you, and I need to know whether or not that interest is worth pursuing." and work stuff out from there.

And romance isn't really rational. You can't really go "well I share a lot of interests with this gal, so SCIENCE says I should go after her!" If you're so into the girl you like that it keeps you up at night that she doesn't seem into you, clearly you think she is a pretty big deal, so it may be worth pursuing her despite the lack of common ground. If it starts working out, maybe you two could introduce each other to new hobbies, etc.

And so speaketh the 16 year old who obviously has years of experience and knows 100% what he is talking about. Yes.



Unrelated to romance, but related to the thread: just let two fully cooked mini-pizzas warm up in a 350 degree oven for an hour and 15 minutes. They now resemble hockey pucks in every aspect except odor. Pan seems fine though. God bless cast-iron.

Based on this alone, go with #2 and just forget about #1.

You get with #1, your hopes are all high and shit because as you said yourself, its an irrational crush. But if you do, and if she's not too sure about it then theres a great risk she'll break it off, then you're gonna be all fucked up bad style.

#2, you both like each other, you're already off to a better than good start, and before long, you'll be so nuts deep in hot poon that you'll be all "#1 who?".

Honestly, it sounds a lot better all round going for #2. #1 has "first crush/unrequited love" written all over it. #2 has "this will end well" stamped on it.

Well if it wasn't so bad it was keeping him up, I'd agree, but it seems that he really genuinely cares for #1, moreso than just a passing puppycrush.

And like I said, while it might be that #1's just not that into him, it might be that she, rather like myself, has difficulties displaying romantic affection, and ends up looking cold/distant at times.

So yeah, while #1 may just be less than thrilled at the prospect of a relationship with him, I wouldn't just blow her off, I'd really try to find out what she was all about. Best way to find out something about someone is to ask them.

So yeah I kinda agree with Blokey, except I'd hold out on the "just forget about #1" part until you're sure she's just not too awkward to express that she digs you.

I'm inclined to agree with Blokey here. #1 knows how I feel but hasn't shown anything back. I'll give it a week or so like I said, if she wants to hit me up. To be honest her apparent lack of interest is turning me off to her, i.e. I'm not "laying awake at night" at this point.

Then yeah sure, give it a week to check for progress then go after 2.

Although the fact that #1 shows no interest while sober, but asked you out while drunk, tells me that she's sort of emotionally reserved, but when she was drunk and her barriers were down, she was free to show interest, but if you don't want to wait around for her, I guess I can't blame you.

Well actually I shouldn't say she asked me out.... She asked me if I still wanted to go to the place I asked her out to, and I said sure, anytime you want to go. Then she proceeded to tell me how busy her schedule is... So she did bring it up and show a little interest, but she again wouldn't commit to anything. And I really can't wait around for her forever.

Also, I've been in a #1-ish situation pretty recently. Honestly man if she's not interested just leave it at that. I'm really good friends with this girl but I think I was pushing too hard and made things a bit too awkward, to the point where I worried for the friendship. I appologized (in hindsight, probably not the best action), and dialed things back to how it was before I asked her out. She was kinda wishy washy, uncertain - whiich is why I'm with Terra, make this shit clear between you and whoever else.

I have today off work and was bored... was watching The Runaways for the third time... And I was drinking my second monster when I decided to make things interesting. So in addition to the 2 monsters, I drank a coke, took 3 shots of rum, and smoked a cigar. It's a good combo. I can't stop daaaaannnncing
