There was some games back in the day that were truly groundbreaking.

These went well above and beyond the graphical boundaries of the processor, and this shows with the fact that they are still timeless today.

Just imagine if some of these titles were brought up to date with the same GREAT features that made them good, but with newer, better graphics, online featues and multiplayer capabilities.

here are some games that i'd LOVE to see decent updates of.

Streets of Rage - quite possibly my most played XBLA game.
Gunstar Heroes - Remember the compinations fo the guns you could have?
Kid Chameleon - the variation in the hats were well ahead of it's time.
Spider-man: Maximum Carnage - With multiplayer, this would have been ace!
Eternal Champions - This game had much more character than many many others.
Adams Family (Gameboy) - The story was great for a gameboy game.

What would you have remade?

Alex Kidd In Miracle World.
Best fucking platformer ever. Doesn't need too much of an overhaul, but some fluid movement into the main sprite, some superbly designed backgrounds, some flashy special effects, and the option to have the updated or original OST.... man, I think me and Loco would kill for that.

Sensible Soccer
Not necessarily updated graphics, but goddammit if there was ever a game that needed online play, this is it.

Goddamn.... there's so many.... I'm gonna have to come back to this.

Both of mine herald from the Acorn so I don't expect many of you to know about them

Stunt Racer 2000

Billed as the future of racing entertainment, its like a demolition derby taken to the extreme. Loads of tracks to compete on with 5 other computer-racers, or you could split-screen with a friend. A lot of the tracks were designed to wipe you out, the video above shows a nasty two-way stretch where head-on collisions were more common than actually finishing a race. There was also a 2p mode called Killer, a vehicular deathmatch if you will, played out on huge areans with 500 feet drops everywhere you looked.

Star Fighter 3000

The next in the series from the 'WFE Network' contestants could earn fame and fortune by flying around and blowing stuff up. But its not long before you're sent on 'missions' on the rival TV companies planet to wipe out their operation. Combat takes place over the planet, in space, and in a very weird void space where your shots rebound off everything. There would be some framerate slowdown during explosions (as evident in the video) but I liked to think of that as the John Woo moment ;) This was the first game I played wioth texture mapping so it will always have a special place in my history, but to update it with 4 players teaming up to carry out the same mission? Yes please sir.

I kinda hate remakes but if they remade Metroid 2 or Zelda 2 I'd be all over that.

Phantasy Star I-IV - The original 4 would be tops if they were remade with todays standards.

Altered Beast - just give me online play via XBLA. I don't need an update necessarily.

I second Blokey's call for Alex Kidd.

Bouncers (Sega CD) - again, online play would be insane.
