I just recently started playing it again, after being stuck for what seemed like ages, I realized that my own stupidity got in the way of my progress >.<

Anyways, I'm off and about on this rampage again and I'm lovin every minute of it!

Anybody play this and/or the first game (Jet Set/Grind Radio [set for certain other countries, grind for the usa to my knowledge])?

They were amazing if you haven't, and I suggest you find copies of either one.

Jet Set Radio Future - Xbox

Jet Grind Radio - Dreamcast

For those who have no clue about the games, both of them put you in the crew of the GG's, a local street gang of rollerblading graffiti artists affiliated with an underground radio station called - Jet Set Radio (Yeah... the title in the USA Dreamcast version was Grind.. but the stations name remained Set... wat?). The game takes you for a ride as you take down other gangs in your way, and deal with the local cops, while you're in their way of keeping the town safe.

The game combines rollerblading around, and doing tricks to score points, with epic graffiti action, and blends it all together with one of the catchiest soundtracks of any game last decade.

I'm trying to find videos to do this game justice but I can't find any good quality videos where someone isn't narrating or being a complete tool D:

I remember playing the first level of this game for like 10 hours when I was a kid. I couldn't beat it, but I couldn't stop playing it.

God, I loved that game.

Played both to full completion. Made custom tags and all that jazz.

Thought the first one was superior due to the way the tagging was done, but Future expanded the game a bit though ruined the tagging mechanic.

Love both these games hard.

Got JSRF on Xbox still. Awesome game is awesome, even though I only played the first few levels or so before something else came along.

Awesome game is awesome. The music is legendary!

I personally liked the speed of JSRF. A different rhythm.

Get back to finishing it. It'll be completely worth it.

@HGW - I was a bit turned off by tagging in Future at first, now I like it better. It grew on me.
I want there to be a sequel on wii that combines the two though.
Almost like Medium, small, and SS sprays would just be Future typed', while Large and XL sprays would use motion controls as a homage to the joystick twirling in the Dreamcast version.

That would be crazy.

That's actually a pretty good idea on the tagging. I kinda missed that feeling in JSRF; the twirls and all that made it feel like you were really working on graffitti. But at the same time, the smaller ones just kinda felt...in the way?

^They aren't "in the way", as much as it would be a lot better to just be speeding by and catch a smaller one.
I had no problem with the mechanics in JSRF, but the one thing that got in the way was the camera angles at times.
I would be speeding down rails and I'll try to catch all of an XL tag, and I'll get maybe half of it (even when holding down the trigger) while the camera flails wildly around the wall being tainted and my ass being shot at by cops XD

Also - They need to stop quarantining areas and banning your tagging ability when the cops come.
I fuckin hated seeing tags when fighting cops who aren't too close to you. It's just a convenience thing :P

I'm just saying that the small tags break up the rhythm. But it makes sense to pause and make an epic mural :)

You are now speeding down the street faster than all of the traffic in the middle of a crowded sidewalk, pushing everybody outta your way, full force, while you tag every clean spot on the nearest wall. You then hop on a rail that takes you to ridiculous heights and jump into the top of a building, out of sight.
