been a while since I've seen it. great movie Bill Murray of course. that fucking scene with the hobo near the end oh god all of my tears also the creeping horror when you realise just how long Bill Murray's character's might have been in that time loop also that suicide sequence where you wanna laugh but looking back on it now it's... oh god it's pretty horrific. also watching a scumbag jerk become a genuinely nice and good person. character development: the movie. Anybody else watched a movie from ages ago again that they've not seen for a while and gotten something new outta it? |

I kinda "got"Groundhog Day when I first watched it, which is why I love the film oh so much. Warm Bodies was another film I tought was so well done that, providing you do NOT read anything about it first (other than "its about a zombie who falls in love with a normal") delivers you an astounding blow to the brain at one certain scene, and everything falls into place and you're like "HOLY FUCK, THIS IS OUTSTANDINGLY WELL DONE". Cannot recommend enough. Bad Grandpa also, right at the end with the beauty pageant, was a really fucking damning send-up of those pageants that, as hilariously.offensive as it was to watch, also accurately.depicts what those fucking things effectively are. So many films with massively hidden (or cleverly disguised) meanings. |

So many films with massively hidden (or cleverly disguised) meanings. I just watched Warm Bodies not more than a few days ago, it is really neat! It's clearly a romeo and juliet retelling with a less tragic ending, there's a nice subtle metaphor about the zombies being people so absorbed in themselves they forget how to be human and relate to others, there's a nice twist to the zombies, it's got some great comedic moments and everything... It's not a terribly deep or impressive movie but it was nice, it was entertaining and it was pretty sweet. |

It was where R broke into the complex, and Julia came out onto the balcony, and the movie just grabbed the largest lightbulb it could and bludgeoned me with it. Astounding movie. |
