Love Thor's reaction when Cap moves it slightly. Clearly a bit of foreshadowing too, that scene is obviously there for people to remember how big a deal it is when Cap lifts the hammer. It's also really funny too. |

I think I've officially grown up. And then some. This stuff just isn't for me anymore. All I see is cheesy shite that's too methodical and overused. It's all the fucking same to me, I need more than this to sustain me. It first occurred to me when I thought the Avengers was OK at best. Maybe "good" but just "good". I watched it again with someone because they hadn't seen it, and I found it dull and mindless tripe. Then when I saw my friends on facebook, grown adults, watching the arse which was Gotham. Fuck me I thought Warner was supplying some class A drugs to the viewers and I was missed out. And now I find Marvel comics have altered their writing style to a more cartoony, accessible style like these films, which has totally driven me off. I can name like, one comic that I look forward to now, and that's DC. It's quite sad that everyone's enjoying something that I no longer am, even though I'll still watch Thor movies (been a fan of Thor before even half of you were out of nappies) but I'm gonna have to admit to myself that this stuff isn't for me anymore. My taking a shit on you all, just a reflection on what I see in this trailer. |

Do it, you'd be justified in doing so. I think the cynic in me has just become very aparrent in the last few years. Ive been through a fair bit of change and it's probably forced me to grow, maybe a little too much. I'd love to enthiuse about this kinda stuff, I just find it impossible to do so

I'm not sure grown up is the fair description here as there is certainly nothing about liking these movies that counters being grown up. Your tastes have just changed or you have soured |

Probably soured. They don't counter being "grown up" but they're certainly aimed at a younger audience than most movies. But like most kids films now, they introduce a lot of material that allows it to stand on its own as a film for adults. And there's nothing wrong with that. Some of the best films around we designed with kids in mind. There's no doubt that avengers makes money from toys and kids merchandise and Disney Infinity and the like, as much as it does from Cinema tickets. And as a result of that they have to market the films for kids too, otherwise that would be poor business strategy. I don't know where I'm going with this, regardless of who it's aimed at, there's nothing wrong with anyone watching and enjoying a good quality film. I just can't see much here that mentally stimulates me anymore. As much as I could still pretend to be in this kind of demographic, I really aren't anymore. I think I'm out. |
