It happened. Source

And watch as the democratic controlled media blames the republicans when they were the fighting for us Americans to not have to deal with Obama care.

Wow, that post isn't straight-up 100% bias or anything, A+ on being objective.

Edit: I was gonna wait for you to bite back before trying to make a point, partially cause I like letting people dig themselves deeper before I just kind of skip away and leave them buried up to their neck, and partially cause I'm tired as fuck and incoherent, but that actually kind of rustled me, so before bed, let's look at some facts (as I understand them, I make no claim to be any sort of political expert)

>The left is somewhat in power in MURICA atm
>MURICA runs on DEMOCRACY and FREEDOM which means we voted the left in
>by a majority
>the majority of Americans supported the left's plans and ideals
>the left started executed their plans like they said they would

(this next fact will sound slightly skewed cause i'm too tired and lazy and irritated to be politically neutral about it)
>the right p much said "no, we won't let you, either do things like they'd be going if Americans liked us instead, or we SHUT DOWN EVERYTHING"
>the left held their ground

Don't fucking shittalk people for standing by what they said they'd do when they're being fucking pressured and bullied by their opponents. That's shitty. Don't be shitty.

obamacare had nothing to do with the budget. Right tried to throw it into the bill anyways. Left said no. Right wouldn't back down. It's rights fault. That being said, this whole idea of piggybacking ammendments onto bills is complete bullshit.

Rost.

So importantly, does this mean the NSA have turned their spying machines off?

really it doesn't mean anything other than paychecks get delayed for government workers, national parks temporarily close, passport applications take longer, and gun permits take longer. Everything else pretty much stays the same. Morale in the military will take a big hit if a budget isn't passed by the time payday rolls around.

Basically what he said.

Btw, I can't place the blame entirely on the Republican party, it is those GOP nutjobs who claim Obama is STROYIN MERICA and somehow that he is the fault for immigrants TAKING YER JOB. Also that idiot Boner (Boehner) who is acting like a child who won't get what he wants.

This is a bit of an aside but I love when you Americans refer to Democrats as 'the left' I know it's all relative to their opposition and the aggregate position of the voting public but I'm quite drunk and it makes me laugh when Obama and co. are 'left wing'

There is actually a brilliant Westwing episode where this happens, except all the politicians involved seems like decent human beingsā€¦ thats the real fiction in that show.

Basically, some Republicans are throwing a massive bitchfit because a law that was passed three years ago is finally maybe going to come into effect, and every effort they've made to derail it because it's something Obama put on his priority list has failed miserably. Also, let's be clear: this IS on the Republican party for not cracking down on their Tea Party nutjob wing and actually making an effort to play ball so that shit can get done. Boehner's not doing a damn thing to exercise leadership in his party, instead just choosing to fold anytime these Tea Party morons start throwing around rhetoric. Jon Stewart put it pretty well when he took the complaints a few Republicans have made that Obama will compromise with the Iranians but not them, then broke it down like so: if Obama can cut a deal with some of the most intransigent, hardline, unreasonable, totalitarian mullahs in the world, maybe HE'S not the problem.

Both sides need to come together to get work done but they don't seem to want to workout a deal. The president doesn't want to make compromise and get the US government up and running but he is willing to go talk to the president of Iran. Both sides are to blame for this shut down and they could have avoided this shut down if they didn't take 5 weeks off over the summer. They knew this was coming.
