Has anyone seen this film?

It is basically about the creators of indie games and their personal struggle to finishing their projects. Braid, Super Meat Boy and Fez are the main games discussed.

It is a very personal movie. You have these dudes creating an ENTIRE game on their own. Compare it to EA or Activision or some other large developer that has hundreds of people working on a game. These guys put their heart into a game and I found myself being attached to these guys. They care about their games and do not want to fail.

They do come off as as pretentious assholes since they claim their games are better than "x" game, but I guess it comes with the territory. You may not agree with me here, but I think they earned the right to say those things. After all, they are the ones who made the game. We just merely play it.

Give it a watch when you can. It's on Netflix.

I literally watched half the movie yesterday. I had to stop but I'm planning on finishing it today. You're right though, it's really interesting. It's great to see the behind the scenes view of game making.

My favorite part was where the guy said that it took 1000 people 5 years to make Red Dead Redemption and most people didn't complain to them, but 2 people making a game have to delay it a few months and the whole world gets mad.

Yea, but I think the hate came about because RDR wasn't as publicly known as other games. Like for example, Fez was first shown 4 years before the game was released. I didn't hear much about RDR until about a year, maybe less before that game came out.
