Since the Wii U launched on November 18th 2012, the void of quality games has been disgustingly shameful. The system's best game easily thus far is Super Mario U. Since launch day the system has seen no further first party offerings, and won't receive anything more Nintendo published until the end of March, when Lego City Undercover is to be released. That however, can be argued as not a true nintendo title. For that, we do not yet have a release date else, but Q2 is all we know. Could mean June ffs. For Nintendo to release a console in November and have no new first party titles until at least April is simply unnacceptable given the system's lack of third party support in the launch window and overall. For a platform that has always relied extensively on it's first party titles to provide value for it's purchasers it's unfathomable that only Super Mario U and Tank!Tank!Tank! will be available from the Big N by April (at the earliest).

Beyond that, everything in the Wii U catalogue is ports of games that were already released on older platforms, and overpriced party games. Combine this with the fact the Wii U gamepad simply isn't leveraged by basically any games, and has the worst battery life of any handheld console, or peripheral I've ever used. Just a total clusterfuck.

And all of this after Nintendo vowed they would not repeat the mistake of the 3DS. Not only have they repeated them, they have done worse.

I'd trade me Wii U, but I know I'm a sucker for the next Zelda title, so I'll just hang onto it I guess.

Been looking back at a few of the old pre-launch threads and all it seems to be is several people accurately "calling it".

Wii U launch is terrible.

So was the 3DS launch; but look how well its doing. Selling like hotcakes and has great games.

BUT, the 3DS had this dry spell for nearly a year. I imagine that the Wii U will go though the same. In fact, I am more interested in the non Nintendo games: Bayonetta 2, The Wonderful 101, Monster Hunter Ultimate, shop stuff and a few others.

My understanding was that Wonderful 101 was supposed to be a launch window title. Not sure what happened to that...

I've seen people saying that its outselling what the 360 and PS3 managed at launch (in the UK at least)

Well, it's sales are nothing that great. I think it's around 3 million. Not great, not terrible.

The failure is the lack of AAA third party titles, and even first party support.

I think Assassin's Creed III was like a week behind 360/PS3 release, and Black Ops was same day. Or vice versa. Can't remember
