360 Day One went just fine for me, actually. Y'know, since they actually knew what they were doing with LIVE.

I got a 360 for Christmas the year it was released, from the misses. Took days before I could get onto LIVE. It was like the Dreamcast all over again...

Nah, if I would've had to wait through a 5GB download for my 360 to work, I would've been absolutely pissed.

If the Wii U works dandy later on then good on them, but I'm crazy happy that I'm going to be waiting. At least I know that by the time I end up getting one it'll function the way it's supposed to.

I waited 6 months to get a PS3 with Disgaea 3 and Valkyria Chronicles. I'm crazy happy that I did wait. I got the 360 on day 1. I'm crazy happy I did, since it worked the way it was supposed to, and I had games I wanted.

When I get a Wii U and Bayonetta 2, pending Bayonetta 2 is as fucking amazing as the first one, I'll be crazy happy, since by then Nintendo's network stuff should be acceptable.

Also, I'm crazy happy I didn't get a Vita, since the release frequency and quality is an absolute joke. I'll get one eventually with Persona 4 Golden and some import titles, but the way it is right now is absolutely laughable, and it's been how long since it launched?

The best launch ever was Steam, right guys? that was flawless!

Give it time, it's a bit of a fuck up but the Internet is hard. And you can plug pretty much any type of external HDD of any size into the Wii U and just use it, so that's a solution to the space issue, albeit a roundabout one

I'm not doing it because I love my PS3, or because the Wii was a shovelware-filled diaper for casuals and old people.

I'm doing it because, for the best part of twenty years, Nintendo was the fucking embodiment of the word "videogames". They were the fucking King Midas of entertainment. They should know better than this. And its not like they haven't experienced failure before.

And today I find out that your WiiU ID is locked to that machine. If it bricks, you can't sign on to another machine with your old details. Nope, not happening. Your machine bricks, wave goodbye to anything you purchased.

What the goddamn fuck is the point then? There is NO WAY I would have purchased even 1/100th of the downloadable stuff I have on PS3/360 if there weren't a way to recover/transfer that shit. Yeah, the 360's got some annoying DRM that can be an issue, but even Microsoft lets you use your content on ANY 360 if you're on LIVE and lets you transfer your Licenses to a new console so you can use the stuff offline.

I mean. If I'm understanding this all, it kills the hope of anything digital for me on the console. I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't bring my LIVE account/harddrive with me to a friend's place for Rock Band nights. That kinda shit IS important to me.

Already has been talks about a future update that will put the downloads specific to the account and NOT the console itself. Nintendo wants to use their Nintendo Network with their 3DS as well.

This is as dumb as the people making fun of $599 US dollars for Playstation. Remember when that was a thing? Remember when 360s red ringed? Not too long ago, PSN was down for a fucking month. Have you guys forgotten that shit storm?

Oh but it's ok, because they are not Nintendo. You guys want perfection from a company that did not handle online gaming or HD in the past. Everything takes time, but you guys just don't want to wait. Can't say I blame you, but the technology is still in it's infancy. Nothing is perfect the first time around and Nintendo is not immune to that.

Not every launch is silky smooth, but that's no reason to get all up in arms about which company is taking the heat.
While this launch is rather bumpy, I'm sure that a fair amount of the issues popping up right now will be solved within the next few months. I mean, it could be worse. It could be the 3DS launch, eh?
