You know what would make Ax and me buy the system?

An RTS that uses multiple Wii-U pads. Each of us has our own screen for doing battle, overall action is on the TV. If that happens, I will buy it and 8 Wii-U pads. IF, it happens.

But yeah, one Wii U Pad = no FF:CC, which is criminal.

I like FF4 Blokeh, I was just making a pint ;)

As far as the Wii U Pad goes, it isn't the fact that it won't be supporting extra Wii U Pads, it is more of a cost issue. I forget the link, but I read on GoNintendo somewhere that in theory, you can have 2 or more Wii U Pads connected at once but Nintendo knows that the pads will come out to be pricy. (A price that we don't even know yet).

I say just wait it out. The Wii U has potential, we just don't see it yet. We are all crying foul before we see exactly what it can do. Some media outlets say that the visuals of the console surpass that of current consoles. Granted it isn't much of a surprise, but we are also hitting a threshold. How many more polygons and visual technobabble can we add to video games anyway?

Regardless, it is a proper HD console with a controller that has Dreamcast-esque abilities but to the 10th degree. I am always interested in what Nintendo does. Because if there is one thing they know how to do, is change how the video game market works.

My issue here is, when you show off something as... not revolutionary, but y'know, something this different, then you need to show it off to the max if you want people to take you seriously.

They haven't.

So we're not.

I have a feeling that, by the time they do, it'll be too late.

Yeah, they definitely fumbled the presentation at E3. Way too many people thought that the only new thing was the controller, and that it was just another Wii peripheral.

They had a chance to do that and they didn't. Problem is now people are holding that against them. Its like the whole thing with PS3s 599 US dollars thing. The minute Sony said that, people went "NAW SON" and just starting saying shit about. Genji didn't help too much either. And guess what? Eventually it didn't matter. They had something to show as time went along and they still managed to sell a nice amount at launch.

All I am saying is just wait until the final full reveal of the console before casting judgement on any and all consoles. I am always skeptical with new technology that is being unveiled, but until I can actually see what it does, I won't be shitting all over it.

I don't really care what it does. The thing could have some killer games and be the console of the decade. If they aren't offering a standard controller I want nothing to do with it. I have a 56" TV for a reason, and that reason is not to view HD content on a 7" screen on my gigantic controller.

It does have a standard controller, two, in fact.

That, and you WILL use your TV. Think of the new controller as a new camera angle that you get, but you keep your TV's view in place. Running forward in a shooting game? Need to glance to right, but want to see what's coming at you? Tilt the controller to the right, keep your eyes on both screens. Blamo. You know what's going on around both fronts without a blind spot (excluding the left sides, but for the sake of this example, ignore those).

Nintendo's just using this screen to grant a new edge and experience to games. I really can't wait to see how this goes.

Research much?

Folks over at IGN said that it was surprisingly comfortable. Not too much weight to as they had previously though.

^That... Also, you wouldn't have to hold it like a steering wheel. There's also the fact that it's your choice of how to hold it. Maybe you'll want it out in front of you, or maybe you'll prop it up for a second to get a quick glance in a different direction. It's pretty versatile, which I like.

Or you can, you know, look down then up at the screen.

No one said you HAD to view both at the same time.
