@Joey -- There was word on Gamecube. It was the final word. No Gamecube support. Period. (the next bit is unrelated, but...)
While I'm disappointed on that, I hope that Sakurai tries to market a gamecube controller as a Smash Bros controller. While I wouldn't want to buy another controller, I'm much too used to the gamecube controller for Smash Bros.

@Fanboy -- I had said that it would only be for a second or two, if at all.
Though I can see why you wouldn't want to hold a controller up like that, or even move about when it comes to playing a game, which is why it can be optional.... Though this is all just wishful thinking. As neat as it would be, all of this is up to the devs :I

I personally don't mind the extra touches that motion controls offer, but many seems to hate it.

Sometimes gimmicks make me barf. Some games do it awesome (Elite Beat Agents) others do it myargh like (Mario 64 DS). Or you can go the Monster Hunter 3 route and incorporate every possible control scheme as possible. Since I bought the pack with the nifty Classic Controller Pro, I just stuck with that option.

MarioKart Wii was bomb. I loved the Wiimote/Nunchuck controls. I beat a lot of people with those controls.

I just used Wii remote/wheel peripheral or regular classic controller mode.
