Cause he wasn't defending Sony, or even attacking Nintendo there, so you kinda just end up looking like a tool when you say stuff like that, no offense.

seriously, stop doing that, as Terra said, you come of as a massive dickbag.

He's right, it isn't Nintendo's style, I don't see the Wii or the DS having 4 cores...

So one anomaly in Nintendo's hardware design philosophy immediately becomes their modus operandi eh? You guys are ridiculous. The NES was vastly superior to anything released at the time of its launch, same with the SNES, same with the Nintendo 64, same with the GameCube. just because the DS and Wii were not superior to consoles and handhelds released in their time does not mean that they can't and won't release something vastly superior in rendering and processing power to everything else on the market. Your argument is flimsy and logic is full of holes.

Calm down Commander of the Nintendo Defence Force. (or Mr. Hypocrite, which might be more appropriate)
Just a warning, typing this on my iPod (which doesn't make me an apple fanboy) so there might be some spelling errors, and the formatting is bound to be off, so...

And to call the wii an anomaly is what I would call stupid, they've made a ridiculous amount of money from it, while the gamecube (which I'm pretty sure was inferior to the original xbox) got them nowhere near as much. Face it, Nintendo are a different company now (apart from the whole remake shit, they'll never change that), they don't want to win over the hardcore any more. It doesn't make business sense to do that, it makes business sense to continue the trajectory the wii plotted out. The 3DS appears to be capable of last generation graphics, similar to how the PSP was capable of PS2ish graphics. That's a generation jump from the DS looking like a Nintendo Sixty FOOOOOOUUUUUURRRRRR. While the Wii was just a bit more powerful than the last generation of consoles, and Cafe seems to be just a bit more powerful than this generation from what we've heard. That's a pattern if you ask me, with evidence to back it up.

Actually. Just for the record, the same original reports that detailed the controller with built in touch screen, which has proven correct, stated that the CPU of the system would be similar in design to the 360, but more powerful. Given that the 360 had a tri-core CPU, a quad core isnt much of a stretch.

Additionally, a quad processor isn't expensive anymore.

When was the touch screen controller confirmed?
Thought we didn't know anything other than the codename project cafe.

A LOT has been leaked today, none of it "confirmed" obviously, but this is what I've seen on multiple sites:

The consoles name is actually just "Nintendo" //// (Possibility of the name 'Beam' used in some sort)
It's capable of playing every game Nintendo has ever made other than 3DS games, including cartridges (though VirtualBoy seems to be a stretch)
Has a tricore processor in the 3-4 ghz range
1-1.5gb of ram
Touchscreen controller
AMD R700
Native 1080p

I call shenanigans on it being BC with Nintendo Sixty FOOOOOOUUUUUURRRRRR on back. That just doesn't make sense to me. Wouldn't that totally ruin Nintendo's chances to remake past classics for the current console if you can just pop in your old cartridges?

Why the fuck would they make it compatible with cartridges then? It doesn't make sense.

Calling BS. The thought ANY of you would entertain such drivel is beyond a joke..

It's just plain retarded.

Kudos on Nintendo's past stance on backwards compatibility. If they redesign and re-do a whole new Nintendo Store for BC games then they're a little bit on the cuntish side of it.

..and I have a feeling, IF it's totally backwards compatible that you would need a new account, with new downloads, etc. etc.

My friend sold his Wii. Asked him what happened to all of his DLC - gone.

am I the only one who didn't think the Wii was "slightly more powerful"...or slightly more anything for that matter?

It was a GameCube. Nothing more.

nope. Graphics were far ahead from the Gamecube's, as long as you played Wii games on it.

But when playing GC games on it, if too much was on screen at once, I'd get some stuttering. Stuttering I wouldn't get on the Gamecube. Which is pretty funny to me, actually.

they weren't that far ahead, lets be honest, Mario Galaxy and maybe Brawl were the only two games that really did anything to show me that it was more powerful than a gamecube.
