Huge confusion about the power of the machine, Game Informer's sources conflict each other, some said it was more powerful, some said it was less powerful.

believe nothing until it has come out of Iwata's mouth.

oh and I wouldn't be surprised if Skyward Sword pulls a Twilight Princess if this is true.

IGN said that their sources have said that the machine is significantly more powerful than the 360 and ps3. Backwards compatible and a pre-announcement will come this month :shock:

Nintendo are still very much a casual company (a claim supported by the fact they just released (or are about to release) what is essentially Wii Play 2), they just use gamers like us as the platform to launch their consoles. We all bought the Wii, and the non gamers were like, 'hey that's cool' and then they bought it and never bought another game. The same will probably go for the 3DS once the price drops.

I just can't see Nintendo suddenly going for what will essentially be the bleeding edge of the console market (mostly because there isn't anything else to define it.) and abandoning the goldmine that they've struck.

I'm willing to be proved wrong, but only by Nintendo actually announcing this, not by 'sources', especially when IGN staff members are saying things like: "Inclined to call bullshit on Wii 2 rumors - 2Xs PS3, going after the hardcore? Not their style. I'm thinking HD and a new gimmick."

Looks like a Dreamcast play to me. The technology is there is make a console with higher processing power than the 360/PS3 - just look at the BF3 teasers for evidence - but it will be bettered to some degree by the other manufacturers.

Nintendo baby, I love you, but your controller is giving me carpal tunnel. I miss my two joysticks, Nintendo. I miss them.

Although I'm gonna get this console either way, I'm just hopin' for the return of regular controls.
