I'm making a thread for this game since I didn't see one.

So this game comes out on November 21 and it's going to single-handedly save all of gaming. I'm still slightly amazed this game is even being made. Back in 2009 I had pretty much accepted they would never make a new DKC ever again and had moved on (and from gaming as a whole). The best part is it looks like Retro isn't just making a shitty cash in platformer like New Super Mario Bros Wii. The graphics look beautiful and Kenji Yamamoto is the composer.

The only real cons I can see so far are the lack of recurring characters (only DK, Diddy, Cranky, Rambi and Squawks) and no water levels. But hey, at least this game doesn't have any more of this, or even worse this.

I'm buying it day one.

I had a feeling that you'd show up for this game.
It's definitely looking ace from what I've seen, and it's on my radar. I need a goddamn job though, so I can buy a game without cutting too much into any funds I actually have. So much vidya, so little cash. heheh

Fixed for personal situation.

A friend of min asked by I buy so many games if I barely play them. I answered, "the older you get, the more games you can afford, and the less time you have to play them." Games felt alot more special when you only got one or two a year, in retrospect.

Want pretty hard. The DKC games were some of the first I ever played, hoping this maintains the feeling of them. The little bit I've seen of it looks like it does, but looks can be deceiving I guess.

Just beat the original DKC in honor of this release. I'll post about that in a later thread though.

As for Returns... HOLY CRAP. Looks amazing. Retro Studios sure are living up to their namesake. Reviving franchises like Metroid and DKC in such marvelous ways. I love their attention to detail and their ability to capture the feeling of a game while still introducing new elements. I can't wait to get my butt kicked all over the place by this game. : D

Oh and as for returning characters... Rambi I know for sure is back. So maybe that offers a little hope concerning others.

I really enjoyed the first DKC and after watching some videos I'm pretty excited for this game. I probably still won't get it though.

This is the first time in my life that I have ever seen someone complain about a game not having water levels.

So we're all hyped for DKC, the Republicans control the house... is it suddenly 1994 again?

So I hear that Retro did an astounding job on this game. I'm VERY interested now. I may try and pick it up on black friday or something.

I bought this game the day it came out. Best game on the system IMO, by far.

I don't know... Super Mario Galaxy 2 imo is much better than anything else I have played on the Wii. IMO one of the best games of all time

Funny, cause I hate Mario Galaxy 2 with nearly every fiber of my being.
The first one, however, was an absolute masterpiece.

Anyways, I just picked up Donkey Kong Country Returns whilst at the mall yesterday, and I gotta say... It's fucking amazing.
I'm amazed at how well they hit the sweet spot between too easy and rage inducing when it comes to certain parts. The game is challenging, but not to any point near frustration. There are also loads of goodies strewn about the levels, and I'll definitely be going back for those after my first initial run through.

Seriously though, buy this game. Give Retro the support they deserve to make more of these masterpieces. :3c
