We all know by know that the classic Nintendo Sixty FOOOOOOUUUUUURRRRRR game Goldeneye is being remade by Eurocom and published by those wonderful, wonderful people at Activision.

Martin Hollis was one of the RARE guys who helped make the original game such a legendary title, so how does he feel about it being remade for the modern market?

"(Eurocom) are a good company. I'm confident they have done their very best" he stated in an interview with the Official Nintendo Magazine.

But what about the publishers, Activision?

"I imagine it is a business decision isn't it? This name is valuable, let's use it. I find it hard to picture Activision's top management being excited about the original and wanting to do it justice. In fact, I find it hard to imagine them being excited about any game. It's my perception that they are trying to be EA, only more so. I think they are doing a fine job at that."

Ouch, Mr Hollis. Ouch indeed.

Eurocom? Hopefully it's a straight copy of the original, cause Eurocom suck balls and have had 0 good games ever.

Check out their website. I applied for a job with them once, glad they didn't consider me.

I really don't understand the nostalgia around the Nintendo Sixty FOOOOOOUUUUUURRRRRR GoldenEye... Weak single player, and hideously broken multiplayer (permanently crouched Oddjob anyone? Dual RCP90s?), overall mediocre at best, yet people seem to glaze over at all of the huge faults, and seem to remember it as something that it really wasn't.

Rose-tinted glasses, like the kind that would have been worn reading Hitler's eulogy.

I played it up until like, 2 years ago, and it was still fantastic.

Opinions, dawg.

I still don't see why people don't just play the Source mod, it even has Steam achievements... what the hell will a remake on an inferior console do?

Nub, I just think it's the nostalgia. yeah it has it's flaw but at the time is was one of the best, if not the best shooter on a console.

I think people will always look back at that with a warm feeling, and play it with a comfortable knowing of what they're doing.

I won't be gettin it though, screw that.

I replayed it recently, and found it to be just as fuckwin as always, but for some reason, a damn sight harder.

I think the dual sticks that we have today have ruined us. Using a stick to look and buttons to move... hard as nails, man.

Safe to say he won't be joining any of Activision's developer partners any time soon... lol

IMO, Goldeneye will forever be the 2nd best shooter the 64 had. Perfect Dark owned it, in almost even conceivable way.
