* doesn't do HD
* doesn't do surround
* controller is inaccurate
* graphics are subpar
* its demographic doesn't really like games

so it doesn't deserve good games.

* the largest demographic voted in Bush Jr twice. Demographics are not always right.

* Not all TVs do HD
* Not all houses have surrond
* Wii Motion Plus is solving that, and the IR pointer is perfectly accurate
* Developers aren't harnessing the power (albeit not amazing), if all the games on the 360 looked like shit but it had the power nobody would say its graphics were sub-par
* Then how come Brawl, Twilight Princess and Galaxy sell like hot cakes?

To be fair the sales of games like Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3 aren't nearly as good as their predecessors.

The wii as a console is great. It seriously is absolutely fantastic. I can't flaw it at all. The Graphics are absolutely wonderful. No it dos'nt support HD, whoopy-doo. Does that make Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, Mario 64 and Mariokart 64 bad games? Not at all. Good graphics are an extra from Gameplay. Nothing more. Enjoyment of a game comes from the gameplay.

FACT!

The Wii dos'nt claim to have perfect accuracy in it's Wiimote. But you know what? It does the job. No other console came with the idea of using motion of the controller as a primary input mechanism.

Plus they have a fantastic Graphics Card, as does the Gamecube. I've seen the new Zelda game on the Wii. You know what? It has some of the nicest rendered graphics I've seen. And you know what? THAT, in my opinion is MUCH more important than screen resolution.

Go Wii! Just look at the sales. Millions can't be wrong. Unless it's about Oasis, they suck!

Also, good games can be created on ANY console, no matter how much it sucks.

Still, I hold oasis in a better light than the Wii.

My main stance on this is yes, the Wii does deserve better games, but Nintendo does very little to help itself.

OMG the millions but was a laugh. Don't take it seriously. I don't hold Oasis over anything though...apart from the drop of a cliff, hehe, yeah awsome.

Yeah it should be gameplay over Graphics. Why do we use portable consoles? Because it's fun. NO it's not HD but who gives? I'm sure that people don't notice HD after a few seconds of playing.

I'd much prefer to play in HD if I had the chance, but if not, then so long as I can still enjoy the game itself, I could care less. Also, having a kid means sometimes I have to play with the sound down, meaning surround is a moot point. Playing games like GTA4 with no sound is well hard, especially when you're in a gunfight and you don't know which direction the bad guys are in.

Yeah I sometimes feel that, if I don't have sound, then half of my senses have gone and I dont feel I can play as well. Just natural instinct really.

Yeah I love HD, but it's a very instant thing.

It's common knowledge that Nintendo were, at one point, going down the pan, and not everyone appreciated their games. I can't remember what year this was, I'm sure it was early 00's. But what game saved them?

Pokemon.

A Gameboy game. Saved Nintendo with it's various spin off's, TV show and merchandise.

I'm not saying this is the only thing Nintendo have, as I can see this thread being a prime argument opportunity for people who love to argue, but this was their savrior at one point. And it's still fantastic today!
