To date the Wii's best game is Wii Sports. It's the reason I bought a Wii and it's the only game I play on the Wii. Every other game I've played including SSBB, Zelda, MP3, and Galaxy have sucked giant donkey balls. I would probably buy Wii Sports Resort if it didn't require me to spend another $80 on accessories.

If you hate the wii so much then why do you come into the Wii forum at all and post in a pro wii thread?
Just seems like a waste of time on your part, only because everybody here's got their opinions already. We already get that you hate the games so why bother popping in anymore? Just wonderin is all, don't take that the wrong way.

Oh, and blokeh, does this mean you'll be buying another wii soon?
With Metroid Other M, Mario Galaxy 2, and Zelda on the line, it's worth it right now.
Not to mention
Sin and Punishment 2
NSMB Wii
the awesome Guitar Hero treatment we're getting...:3

Don't feed the troll. It's not worth it.

I wanted to say all of that too, by the way. ;)

^I really wouldn't consider Fanboy much of a troll, I can tell that he really doesn't like the things he claims to hate.
If anything, if I had to, I'd label him a "retrofag".
Not using the word fag to insult, just to get my point across with the best (or most "on the point") word I can think of right now.

He hates most things around that are new, but loves the classics.
I've heard him rant on how he loved mario bros when it was still the NES/SNES era, and I also remember him trying out Mario 64 and constantly complainin bout it.
He enjoys the more nostalgic simpler games. The classics...

That or he just grew out of video games. It's possible, but I wouldn't say this because he wouldn't join a gaming forum if he didn't like gaming. XP
I'm sure he owns a current gen system that he likes... right?

I'm probably wrong on both counts, but just disregard that and use this as a placeholder.

"I don't think fanboy's a troll. I just wanna see what his answer is, cause I already know he's got some sorta reason."

I can understand the hate with Brawl, Zelda, and Metroid Prime 3.

But when somebody hates Super Mario Galaxy, hates gaming period.

I think I can explain where Fanboy is coming from, because like him, I grew up as Nintendo grew up.

I remember getting a NES and being blown away by just how awesome Nintendo games were. In fact, there were very few bad NES games, and the ones that were, were not made by Nintendo.

Then the SNES came out, and lets face it, there wasn't a bad SNES game period.

Nintendo gave its fans exactly what they wanted - games that were fun to play, and required you to own just 4 things - a SNES, a controller, the game, and a TV.

Nowadays, Nintendo will only let you play games if you buy each and every piece of their last-minute, tacked-on, useless peripherals that are of little or no use in any other game, and because they spent too much time on the peripherals and not on the game itself, the game suffers.

Nintendo have lost what it was that made them great in the first place - the ability to make awesome games. I'm sorry, Galaxy was alright, but it was no Super Mario World.

I pretty much guaran-friggin-tee that if any of you guys were old enough to have experienced Nintendo in the 80s and 90s, you'd be as disillusioned with them as we are.

Hi, my name's Terra, and this is the NES and SNES I've owned since I was 5 years old.

And I am a Nintendo fanboy.

@Blokeh - I gotta be honest with ya, I played through around half of Super Mario World. All of which I played was really friggin amazing.
I hear Mario Galaxy 2 is going to be somewhat of an offering like that, but we'll wait and see.

That being said I think Galaxy and SMW were pretty much in an even battle.
In terms of depth, however, SMW wins that battle for a longshot.

They both introduced new powerups and new levels. New styles of play and it was all fun.
Also Galaxy, like SMW, needs you to own 4 things. Wii, Tv, Wiimote/nunchuk, the game.

Just making a quick comparison. I played them both somewhat around the same time, so I can't really judge off nostalgia.
I gotta say though, Mario Galaxy was a masterpiece that actually captured a nostalgic nerve in me. Not many games do that. Not many at all (I'm sure we can all agree that no matter how good any game gets, quality quality games are hard to come by)

Dude, I am from the 90s. Not only that, but I have my own NES right now, hooked up at this very moment. Don't think that I don't know where fanboy is coming from, but I honestly think that he is delusional because of the Wii itself.

Wii remote - 40 bucks. Nunchuck - 20 bucks. Wii Motion plus - 20 bucks. 80 dollars down the toilet already, but I don't think that is a reason to hate on the game themselves. To say that Wii Sports is the best game on the Wii right now, IMO thats bullshit. Wii Sports was a glorified tech demo that does what it was supposed to do.

Lets face it, we all know why Wii gets its hate. But don't think that I am just some sort of "new age" kid that doesn't know anything about video games. Hell, the 90s were practically where I came from. SNES, Sega Genesis, TG-16, Sega Saturn, Playstation, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast and even some love from the Neo Geo AES (though I never owned one). I play games that are fun, simple as that. Super Mario Galaxy provided an incredible amount of depth and gameplay that can only be rivaled by Super Mario 64.

EDIT: By the way, I fucking lol'd at the N 6 4

I would like to quote this for truth.

I do think that people of fanboy and Blokey's generation can be biased in some cases. I'm not going to sugar coat this or anything, but just because you grew up in the 'prime of gaming' so to speak doesn't mean there isn't value in current generation games. I respect both of you, don't get me wrong. But you have to understand that I too played a lot of the same games (not near as many since I was much younger), and I enjoyed them (and still do) so much. They were classic and full of quality. I would have to agree that Nintendo has lost a lot of what it once was, but I do NOT think that a good number of the AAA games of today deserve the flack that they receive from the older generation gamers.

You just proved my point.

They might still make good games, but nowhere near the calibre of the games they used to make.

Zelda: LttP and Zelda: LA > Zelda: TP
Super Mario World > Super Mario Galaxy
Super Metroid > Metroid Prime 3

I mean, a fucking GameBoy game that is better than a Wii game?!?!?

Its nothing to do with nostalgia I promise you. Its the simple fact that, as you yourself said, they just aren't as good as they used to be.

Nintendo didn't 'lose' what they once had.

they got rid of it, purposefuly, so stop moaning about it and man up.
you've got your xbox/ps3/PC for your hardcore fix

AND IF YOU'RE REALLY THAT BOTHERED you've probably still got your NES/SNES.

SO RED STEEL 2. COOL GAME HUH?
