I just picked it up from gamestop. About to go ham and provolone on this game.

This game is a lot of fun. Sure they're just 3v3 3min matches, but I've killed an absolute ton of time in this game playing with friends.

Matchmaking is reliable and fast, so kudos to Nintendo for that, but then, this game also highlights some of the ongoing lack of understanding nintendo seems to have regarding online gaming.

I haven't been to this in a while. I don't think at all since the updates. I should try to play again soon.

The game has gotten better over time. So many weapons to choose from now and new maps. One thing they still didn't add is a way to drop out of the lobby when you are searching for a match.

Looks like they're not done with the updates, which is pretty cool. I'm gonna try and get back into it this weekend. Anyone else down?

Never done party chat on a WiiU. How is it done? What kind of headset do I use?

I'm pretty certain you can plug in any pair of headphones to the Gamepad, and use the mic from there.
That being said, I don't think there's party chat, so using Skype, Teamspeak, Discord, or what have you would be a better option.

Voice chat's on a by-game basis, and while there's the Wii U Chat app, it's just a video chat thing that can't be used to multitask.
I know Smash has voice chat in its lobbies, but I haven't seen a single thing about Splatoon having a chat function.

If you guys get together for a party though, I'd definitely be in to play. This is a game I get so hype for, over the style and aesthetic, but only play for like an hour at a time.
It's the map rotations, man. I can't just play the same 2 maps for 2 full hours straight, it's insane.

They constantly change the maps. Splatoon has a lot of maps now. Regular matches and ranked matches always have different maps.

Started playing again. So fun.
