Okay so. I've been using a bog standard 3 button logitech mouse for some time, recently I got an older Razer Naga mouse, you know the pretty awesome one with the numpad on the side, pretty comfortable... the one which has the flatter buttons, not the even better 2014 remodel of it that came out last year. And it lasted me like... maybe like 4 or 5 months. Just a few days ago I got a shock.

literally.

as in I put my hand on the mouse and ZAP. and now the mouse is dead. Kaputski. fucked. Less use than a paperweight because at least a paperweight wouldn't have a trailing cable.

So here's what I need. I DON'T need wireless. I want it wired. I want it usb. Why? Because fuck you that's why. HERE BE SECRETSReally I'm just not fond of wireless peripherals. With a wire sure it gets tangled and I have to make sure it reaches the port but at least then if a cat knocks it off my desk it's not really going to go that far. A wireless one could easily end up in the kitchen or something. If you are thinking 'psh there's no way a cat would play with a computer mouse' then you have no concept of how much of an arsehole some of my cats can be. And god help me if I still owned ferrets.

I would also like at least 3 buttons, preferably 5. I'm not really going to need an MMO specific one. I don't need one with lots of extra numpad buttons or shit. As for the extra two buttons, I once owned a seriously cheap 5 button mouse that had these two little buttons where the thumb lay... and I was CONSTANTLY accidentally pressing them becasue they were super sensitive to touch. seriously if you looked at them funny they'd depress in and it caused me no end of frustration because for whatever reason they automatically made websites go back or forward interrpting what I was doing all the time online, and their behaviour in games was unpredictable at best.

I ALSO do not want one with stupid weird angular designs or lots of flashy lights. I want it to be nice, largish, and comfortable to hold for long periods. I want that shit to glide around pretty good though and I want it to have a decent DPI. not stupid high, but certainly not a £5 mouse from tescos or some bullshit like that.

Brand isn't particularly important. Price however is. I have a limited budget. I'm not sure I'm willing to fork out £60 to £70 for a new mouse. I mean that's just silly.

So, 3 buttons absolute minimum, 5 preferably, more isn't a problem, just isn't necessary. Comfortable to hold, decent DPI, comfortable to hold, doesn't need to be flashy, relatively cheap, wired mouse.

Any suggestions? You'd be doing me a serious favour here. I'm used to using shitty mice, or at least I was, until I got that Naga and then it was like 'welp that's it can't live without a decent mouse now', and this shitty backup logitech bullshit is causing me handcramps.

Redragon Mammoth.

Very comfortable. Three side buttons for your thumb and one for your pointer finger, all programmable with the bundled software. Adjustable DPI. Adjustable weight. Adjustable lights. Braided cord.

Oh, and it's fairly priced.

http://www.amazon.com/Redragon-Precisio ... B00GU4F4OM

I'm using it right now, and it's the best mouse I've ever put my hands on.

They have a model similar to the Naga called the Perdition. That POS is infuriating. If anyone want's one, I'll mail you mine that I used for all of 30 minutes. May smell like rage, though.

What's specifically wrong with the perdition anyway? I'm curious, because I can't get the Mammoth in the UK apparently. Amazon doesn't seem to believe it exists and I can't buy it from Amazon.com because it doesn't ship to the UK for whatever reason? Also Google doesn't seem to think it exists from a shopping point of view either. The perdition? Hell yes. the Mammoth? Fuck no.

Well, here's the review I left.

Awful mouse compared to the Mammoth model. Clicking with the Perdition is like trying to set the time on a digital watch. You have to press hard to make it click, then you have to almost completely lift your finger off the button to let it raise back up. Trying to double click almost always results in just one click because I didn't raise my finger in the air to let off of the button. Also not comfortable.

As good a reason as any to not like a mouse. Duly noted. thanks! Still hunting for a mouse I can use though, that Mammoth looks great and I do want, but cannot acquire apparently. :<

I can back the Mammoth recommendation.
I'd picked it up some months ago, because it was on a crazy good sale on Amazon, and I've been very surprised with the quality.

It's a little on the light side, compared to what I was used to (even with all the weights), but I got used to it fairly quick. Since then I've had no problems whatsoever.

Yeah, I'd love to get it but I cannot seem to find it anywhere in the UK. Hell if I try searching for online shops that sell it in the uk, or even TO the UK, I cannot find anything except a pack of darts?... so yeah... something funky's going on. It's as if the mouse just simply doesn't exist or cannot be exported to the UK or some shit.

That pricetag tho D: also the lacking in more than 3 buttons is a nope for me.

I ended up ordering that Anker one I posted.

I'll give you guys a headsup on how it is when it arrives in the next two days.

OKAY MOUSE REVIEW TIME

I did get that Anker. It came today, this morning, got it after I dropped my cat off at the vets.

Installation went without a hitch. Hell it worked straight after plugging it in, the 'drivers' software literally just installed a tool so i could set the colour of the mouse and its button functions, and what DPI rates I want to switch between. It has a macro recording facility but I can reassign any of the buttons, and I can have two profiles it seems. There's a button on the bottom to switch between both. It comes with some weights I can install to alter how the mouse feels in my hand, and it's a nice big comfortable piece of kit. It fits great, the button presses are light, but not TOO light, the thumbrest is perfectly placed and the whole thing feels very natural in my hand. I know I got it on sale but this is a ridiculously nice mouse. No joke!
