I highly suggest looking at http://videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_list.php for performance/price value ratios

personally I'd go with the 960 but that's just me. $50 less for an 8% performance cut in a card that's going to max 95% of games seems like a more worthy investment, at least for now. Worth considering that DX12 cards will be coming out soon, too. I think. That'd be even more future-proofing.

That would save me some money but it is rumored that the 380X is coming out this month and with the specs it is going to have it will blow the 290X out of the water. The 390X is going to be even more of a beast. I feel like if I am going to be spending 200+ dollars on a graphics card I want it on something that is going to last. I don't think the 960 is worth it.

I am tired of my PC crashing due to this damn 260X I have in it. So, I am gonna be looking into buying a new card a soon as I can. I really want to wait for the new AMD cards but it seems like they will be coming out by June and I am not sure I can deal with this issue any longer. What would you guys recommend would be a good card to get that will last me years?

Then I would have to wait for the 390X. That is going to be the best graphics card and will have 4GB/8GB Stacked HBM memory which is like super fast and will be the first graphics card to have it. Also, from leaked information, the 390X even beats the 980Ti and the new Titan X card. Something to note is that the Nvidia cards are Over clocked and the AMD card isn't. I actually just built a new computer for my cousin this weekend loaded with an i5 4690K that we overclocked to 4.4GHz and an R9 290. Very good performance.

Currently got a GTX 760, it's serving me well. Makin' things pretty, runnin' nicely, p. quiet. At some point I'mma upgrade but not for a while, not until it's super necessary.
