I was all like, meh! when I read about this.

I already ditched FRAPS and similar programs 2 years ago, ever since I got a Blackmagic intensity Pro capture card.

What do I do? Run two HDMI cables out of my PC. One goes into the capture card, the other goes to my TV. Set display output to 'mirror desktop' and profit! Record in full HD with no capped frames.

£120 for a capture card versus £500 for a new graphics card. Hmmm... I know what I'd choose!

I thought about that too, but then I thought about input lag having to go through a secondary card, not to mention Intensity records in HUEG LIKE XBAWKS file formats. I wanted a graphics card update before I heard about ShadowPlay, so it pretty much sealed the deal that I would go nVidia over AMD this time around.

Theres no input lag at all, because you still have a direct cable running from your gpu to your monitor. Plus, if you use 3rd party software like xsplit to record with, an hour of footage is like 3 gigs. Not that it matters to me, because I have a 1TB drive dedicated to recording.
