There's a new generation of intel processors coming out in a couple of days, so current ones will drop in price a little.

With that said, the HD 4000 graphics built into the current ones equates to a Radeon 5550 in terms of performance. Good for low end gaming.

It would still be much better to get a AMD CPU what has a GPU. AMD built in graphics are much better than the HD 4000 and going AMD will save you money.

Some of them are better than the 4000, but not all. And core for core, Intel beats AMD in terms of processing performance.

Not really. AMD is catching up and some AMD cpu's that I have seen have even beat intel cpu's.

The only reason those games run better is due to the i5. The graphics suck on the chip but due to the i5 it gives it a power boost. Though the AMD cpu isn't even that bad. Now lets look at the most important part, the price.
$129.99 for the AMD A10
$229.99 for the Intel i5
Who in the right mind would pay $100 more for a CPU that is maybe 20-30% better?

These scores are based off of cpu performance with the same dedicated card between the two. If you want to dispute that, the 5800k has it's own GPU, the 7660D, which is "significantly better than the Intel HD Graphics 4000 in the Ivy Bridge Quad-Core models."

Me, and it's actually 35% better in the overall score.

It's phrases like this that show how knowledgable a person is with technology...

Lmfao "power boost". Like an episode of power rangers or something...

Intel all the way btw...

The performance increase is negligible. I'm still running my $90 3.4Ghz AMD quad core and was able to play Metro Last Light on highest settings. Sure the intel chips benchmark higher but the higher price point coupled with the fact that the higher benchmark is complete overkill I'll stick with my AMD chips.

100% agreed.
AMD is getting better at making CPU's so in the very near future we could see some serious competition.
