I've played the beta, quite enjoyed it so I'll be getting it on day 1.

Anybody here planning on getting it? If so I'm happy to join the same server.

Well, if you're flying to Brussels, and stopping her from going shopping, then there's 2 things I need to tell you.

1. Stopping my mum shopping? Fucking hell, you've got some balls. The woman is a one-person Black Friday.
2. You'd better be prepared to dance for about 5 hours beforehand...

This game officially rocks. Rocks fucking hard. I'm now level 10 with my character I use with Orrah and it's just wall to wall fun.

Not had to grind even once, not thought "oh fuck me sick of doing boring missions" once. I've not once wanted to do anything just to level up, every aspect is engrossing in terms of story. If anyone's played something like WoW, they'll know that this is a big deal in an MMO.

I'll come out and say this... Put your money where your refer-a-friend is.

I got fucked being an early adopter of Rift, so I ain't playing TOR without a trial.

people say rift is good. Not played it myself.

I'll have a look on't site, see if I can find any trial or refer-a-friend period or something...

Rift is better now than it was a year ago, but the Trion seem to race overly easy content out, then hammer some seriously complicated mechanics into it, to the point where it's next to impossible to overcome the gear gap to raid. That, and PvP... Yeah, people running around in Prestige 8 gear, nigh on invulnerable deathmachines, with their equally unkillable healers...

Well that's all high level stuff. When I capped on WoW I didn't get into intense raiding, just enjoyed myself making money and what not. So on TOR I'm taking it slowly, can't really tell you what that side of it's like.

But the interface and controls are smooth and easy, and very much WoW based. There's more classed to choose from once you hit level 10 (8 classes, each gets to specialise between 2 options at level 10, and then there's another three different routes for each with talent trees). You can customise equipment with loads and loads of mods to choose from, there's a fuckload of professions, and there's a real mature feel to the community.

It's very story driven which I'm sure you've heard, and it has these fucking awesome, on-rails space combat missions which are seriously fun!

Yeah it has it's flaws and stuff that needs fixing but nothing I think really harms it. I really really enjoy it!

I've just started playing TOR this week, and I agree with ax, the space missions are so much fun, just a pity they arent more prominent, a la Star Wars Galaxies, because this game actually does them well.

It would have been more fun if they'd chosen to make the Spider-Man based MMO they were originally planning...

I have a level 20 ish merc on Nightmare Lands.
