If you haven't played Portal: The Flash Version, you have some serious 'splainin' to do, Lucy. Easily the best flash game I've ever played, offering literally hours of gameplay, it was an awesome twist on Portal's game mechanics.

Well, what do you know, those same guys decided, "Fuck it, we'll just remake this game as a Portal mod:

Portal: TFV

Thus far, most mods for Portal have been either Escher-esque mishmashes of doors and energy ball launchers, or insane Mensa brainmelters like the ren_test maps from that dude at Bethesda. This one, on the other hand, looks and feels as if the Valve guys had done it themselves: it's essentially a "prequel" to the original game, with a new test subject and a series of test chambers that, while very different and featuring new elements from the flash game (electrified floors, laser shields, etc.) are so geniusly constructed that they appear like the same architect built both this and the facility from Portal.

Tell me that doesn't look awesome. This is easily as long as the retail game, just as well-designed, and FREE. To give you an idea of the amount of love put into this game, they even added GLAdoS's voice files from the original game to accurately comment on what you're doing in this one. Add in some sweet-ass references to the Half-Life universe (is that the Borealis in the dry-dock?!?) and what is apparently a bitching boss fight at the end, there's literally no reason not to play this. Even if you have the Orange Box on consoles, I'd say it's still worth buying the PC version of Portal just for this mod (although there are rumors that you can get it to run after installing the Portal: First Slice demo...)

Between this mod and the MINERVA single-player mod, I see absolutely no reason to ever get the console versions of the Half-Life games.

FFS DUDE! LRN2READ! :D

Youtube tags only require the actual video code, ie, the bit after the "=".

On another tangent, that's neat.
