HGW, I kinda think you're ignoring what this means for the industry on a whole.
When an enormous corporation--one of the only three that matter at the moment as far as home consoles go(fuck off Android)--starts completely shafting enormous numbers of customers in a completely ridiculous way to save a relatively few bucks, you can't just go "oh well it doesn't affect me so lol :mosh: don't buy it???"
It'll either start a trend or it'll die out, and both are very bad for the industry.

I'm not ignoring shit.

I already stated that if it doesn't work, I won't buy it.

That's as simple as it gets, right?

You vote with your wallet. That's the way you send a message. No Valkyria Chronicles 3 due to enormous piracy of VC2 in the US. No money in releasing the third, so the real fans that support the series get fucked by the cheapass fuckers who don't pay for shit.

Pay up or don't. That's the only way it'll have any effect on what business takes place.

It's already stated legally that when it comes to media and games, you don't own shit. You pay for the license of the content on the disc or in the download, that's it. I accepted that a long time ago, and it doesn't bother me. If it bothers anyone else they can vote with their wallet. That's how it works.

Don't want DRM music? Don't buy it. Don't want DRM games or consoles? Don't buy them. Don't want DRM anything? Don't buy it. Miss out on stuff or don't, it's up to the individual.

Pretty lame. I can see why MS would want this, but even in my parents house, where a lot of my games are, the wifi barely reaches, and a lot of times they turn it off when they go to sleep.

I prefer if MS ensured games were worth buying at full price rather than asking more and more with regards to consumer. That's normally how this whole selling goods thing works, but not video games!

I'll believe it when I see it. Too many still conflicting reports regarding the subject.

Read the article mate, same DRM as the 360 and PS3.

This happens when you sign out and someone else signs in (Kinect does it if you have that function set up, say if you move away and give the controller to someone else, which then signs them in).

Long story short, don't use Kinect for a fucking tourney. Or turn that shit off.

And if you read the article you would have read that some people are calming it is the same. Some people aren't official Microsoft employees so I wouldn't take their word till there is an official word if we will hear one. I wouldn't be surprised if M$ is thinking about turning on the DRM on the system and bring back the old features the xbox one was originally going to have since now it is in consumers hands. What this article shows me is that the xbone isn't good for competitive play/ tournaments and that is a big deal. Also the people that are going to defend the console are going to be M$ Fanboys. If I can play my steam games offline with no interruptions then I should be able to do the same on my console.

I've never been kicked out of a PS3 game because I got signed out of PSN.
If the 360 does that, it really just goes to show how fuckin' backwards Microsoft is.

Download one of your games onto a console that it was not initially downloaded onto.

Try to play offline.

Doesn't work, does it?

They're lucky they played at all. Solution: Keep the guy who owns the game signed online, or use the original console that it was downloaded on. Y'know, how it works on PS3 and 360...

Honestly, I'd take anything written on this site with a massive grain of salt. Read some of the other articles. This guy is the biggest anti-Xbox "journalist" you'll find on the internet. Now as for the actual issue at hand. If we take the article at face value, this COULD be an unfortunate remnant of the removal of the check-in policies. People should not be so quick to jump the gun.

Anyone who thinks MS is going to sell a bunch of XB1s and then flip all the controversial features back on are being stupid.

With all that said, download games have always been subject to their own set of rules, I see where MS is going with this if it was intentional. There is nothing stopping that game from being downloaded, played on another xbox simultaneously with the original machine without some kind of XBL check. Disc based is different.

Another consideration... It's entirely possible that this is only a thing because it's installed onto a console that is not the home console.

Yo Ax. You downloaded Outrun using my credentials, right?

Sign into your account, log out of PSN, and then fire up Outrun, let us know what happens.

Carl - I promise, fatheeeeerr.

And JZ, there's absolutely no way they could turn on those facilities again, they'd get Fucked and they know it. 2million+ consoles is hardly "in consumers hands", as opposed to how many 360s sold?

Also, the "some people" you speak of? I need more than what that website claims.

I've never once had this happen to me, and my nets been down loads lately. Got a few people using the X1 I've been using and no one has had this.

I'm sure we've all read this on Kotaku, but the net connection went down and the owner wasn't signed in. It's pretty Fukken obvious that this situation would cause a problem.

Also, Joey, how many times have you had someone else play your Steam games without you being signed in?
