Kinnect has sold 10 million units. however the sales of kinnect games are also 10 million so on average people are buying the kinnect and one game sauce

But seriously, I didn't think it'd sell this well, either. As awesome as Kinect might seem, I'm wondering if people aren't winding up being disappointed with their purchase when they find out they need a TV twice as big as the one they already own and a room thrice as big as the biggest one in their house just to get the optimal playing experience.

It hasn't really sold that well when you think about it. Yes it has broken records for the rate of sales, but then you can say that would be fairly easy when there are so many customers out there to pitch it to.

I mean there's been what, 50 million Xbox 360 consoles sold? Probably in the region of 30-40 million active users on Xbox Live. So on the face of it let's take the upper estimate and say that 1/4 of xbox users have Kinect. Then factor in that many people with Kinect have bought multiple games, which means that there are people out there who have bought no games at all. It would seem that a lot of Kinect units have either been bought and forgotten, or bought for purposes other than for use with an Xbox 360.

Does the figure include a bundled game? The game it comes with may not feature in this equation... or every bought it for dash board navigation which it transpires is all you can use it for in my tiny room.

Good question. I honestly don't know.

I know there are bundles out there with Kinect adventures but I have no idea if they factored in those figures.
