Fuck Kinect, Medal of Honor and Ubisofts shitty ass conference.

DAY ONE FUCKERS.

No disrespect, I am just a Castlevania fag. I know it has relatively limited options.

I thoroughly enjoy Castlevania games but I always end up getting frustrated towards the end lol. I'll pass but it looks great.

Wait, so you only played ONE Castlevania game and now you don't care about it? That was a sequel to the original 8-bit game you know, Castlevania is a bit different now...

Dollar says he's never played it and is going entirely off of The Angry Video Game Nerd review.

Funny if that's it, cause TAVGN has stated that he actually rather enjoyed Simon's quest, it was just little things that bugged him(the things he RAAAGED at in his review).

Whoa, someone actually played and then wrote about this game! My previous googling turned up nothing but "rumor confirmed: this game exists" fluff.

It sounds like a real departure without sacrificing the 2D platforming action. I like. I want.

I've enjoyed a few of the games in the series, mainly the PS1 games. I tried the NES games too and I guess it wouldn't be a problem for others but the controls felt way to stiff.

Castlevania: Harmony of Despair is a 2D classic that will be the first multiplayer title in the franchise, sporting co-op a survival battle mode, and 5 playable characters. Dot art was a major inspiration for the visuals in the game, leading to some really nice motions. If the game sells well, Konami plans to expand this release with more players and stages.

Day one fuckers.

I'm a little confused. Some people like it, others hate it.

Being the giant Castlevania fag that I am, I will still be buying it. I am still a bit disappointed at the mixed reviews.

I got it, it is a lot of fun.

It reminds me a little bit of Monster Hunter, in that you don't level by simply grinding away. You do grind, but for money so that you can buy more weapons and armor. Defeating the end boss gives a cool character specific award.

Playable characters: Alucard, Johnathon Morris, Soma Cruz, Shanoa and Charlotte Aulin. So far, it seems as though Johnathon is the least useful, he is a general Belmont character complete with whip and sidearms. Thing is, other characters have a leg up because of the better magic or special abilities that everyone else has. He isn't a bad character, just basic.

The game isn't for everyone though, it is rather short. 6 chapters, but there is a hard mode after beating the first 6 on normal. The normal mode will kick your ass if you play it by yourself, but it is a blast with 4 or more people. The game supports up to 6 players. I hear that if the game sells well, there will be DLC. I just hope that the updates will be free.

This will be one game I will be on for awhile, the characters are pretty unique so I can see myself playing the chapters over and over again with a different character every time. Right now, I mostly use Alucard and Soma Cruz, but I occasionally use Johnny Morris for some Belmont-esque fun. Though I do wonder why the hell a Belmont ISN'T in this game. We could have at least seen Simon or Richter. Oh well.

From what I've heard on the podcasts I listen to, it pretty much just uses DS sprites, it isn't your standard castlevania, and it's definitely designed for multiplayer as opposed to singleplayer.

Also it's six player (I think) and there are five playable characters
