Region Free has been the standard for Nintendo handhelds for awhile until they decided to be stupid and lock it on the 3DS.

How many of you import games? I barely have since I got back to the uk, and only then because they wouldnt work on my system. There is no game I want that won't eventually get a release in the UK I suspect. Happy it isnt, dont get me wrong, but I think we give this a inflated importance.

I've got loads of US games for my UK machines...

And there is a reason they may decide to lock it as you try and get cheaper games. I only tend to import if it wont play on my Jap machine OR it won't be released for a long time.

You just described most of my imported games.

All the GBA Final Fantasy games, FF3DS and FF4DS, and a few others, all released in the US a few months to a few years before the UK release.

Then I got the God Of War Collection for PS3, because it was announced for a US release and not the UK... until much later.

And God Of War 3 Pandora's Box Edition wasn't sold in the UK far as I know.

But hey, if I get someone in the US to buy a game and send it over, the game has still been sold, and the company has still made money, all it does is put one sale in the wrong territory.

I imported Jump Super Stars, Jump Ultimate Stars and Ouendan 2 for DS.

I think the logic goes if every one imported it and they spent money to bring it over it would be money wasted. Crazy I know, but there it is.

Then announce it worldwide, Job done.

You know why that happens when it does not Blokey, come on, its our fault for being such a diverse region... in terms of language at least.

LOL, alright, yeah, but considering that, now, the US and UK are essentially the same games (save for boxart), why not just release a massive number in the US, a few in the UK, and if the title sells well/doesn't sell well, just ship some between countries to fit demand?

The rest of the EU is essentially either English, French, Spanish or German, so pfft, just release a game with three other languages on it and bam, problem solved.
