I got a 16 GB stick yesterday. Time to scavenge PSN for some cheap games :)

With memory stick prices coming down - although still ridiculous compared to SD cards - it makes me wonder the validity of the PSPgo. I now, effectively, have a PSPgo minus the form factor but plus the ability to use all of my UMDs.

Then again, that might be the point.

Gamers always feel the need to move up when a new model of anything comes up, but the PSPgo is such a cut from the past that gamers feel jipped? Why? Cause we're consumerist whores, but that's beside the point; the infrastructure of getting downloadable PSP games is there for everyone. Putting two and two together, it sort of comes together: the PSPgo isn't a break from the past; rather, it's a catalyst to push all PSP owners into the digital distribution future.

---------------

Aside: I can't put videos on this memory stick :( Not sure what the problem is...converted them to mp4, plopped them in my Video folder; but instead, the PSP makes some folder with a weird names and no video data. I wanted some xxxHolic on the go, damnit!

As a PSP1000 owner I thought it was time for an upgrade, the new PSP's were smaller, lighter and had Skype, video output and all that stuff. I decided to wait till this years E3 to see if there would be anything new announced. At first I was a bit sceptical about the PSP Go as the PS store here in the UK wasn't exactly filled with PSP games & PS1 classics. But when the PSP go launched I shat myself, tons of games that I wanted were added.

So yeah I got one. Paying more for "less" of a PSP didn't really bother me, I managed to trade in my YLOD plagued PS3 to get one and then bought a docking station, 2 year accidental breakdown cover and a screen protector for a total of £175. Not a bad deal tbh, especially as I could claim 4 free digital downloads. :D.
Personally, I prefer the PSP go, it's smaller and easier to carry around and it fits in my pocket, I just love having my entire game collection in the palm of my hands. :D. Shame it didn't come with any earphones >.>

It seems as if my memory stick is fake. Looks like I'm going to have a little talk with the seller after work.

Unless they give me FREE copies of all the UMD games I have, without using the free PSN credits, I am not buying one.....I have to much money put into the umd games. If i upgrade, I dont want to have to use 2 psps to play my games. kinda defeats the purpose...Otherwise, I love the concept.

This is true. There should at least be some incentive to already owning the games.

I wonder how it world work with imports though? I have Initial D on it...no way I'm giving that up.

I have a 3000 and a bunch of games already. MIGHT get a Go to play downloadable stuff on the go and remote play. I basically use my PSP as a home handheld, since it's too big to REALLY take wherever I want.

Edit: I'd keep my 3000 and games though, of course. I'm not a fucking fool.

This is pretty much how I play my PSP as well. I wanted to take it around with me, but unless you toss it in a bag or cost pocket, it really isn't that practical.

I got the money back for my fake memory stick :) It took a while to convince him, but I finally did. I don't think he wasn't trying to scam me though; he bought other fakes and actually seemed sorry and genuinely shocked. Poor guy got duped with buying a PC used too :(

So I have NO psp. I see that a 3000 with mem-stick should be the way to go. I have said it, Feit keeps reminding me, I know it. But with no umds the temptation to have it so small and in my pocket is proving very tempting, especially with iphone having made me a convenience whore.

The more time I spend with my go the more I realise it's the biggest waste of money ever.

Get the 3000. :D

Doesn't the 3000 have the 2D scrolling lines problem?

I have the FFVII:CC PSP2000 and its mint in every way.

Get a 2000 and have done with it.
